• The 40% magic penetration from Void Staff becomes more effective as the target's  magic resistance increases. Magic damage​ dealt is increased by a factor of:
  • 10% at 30 magic resistance;
  • 25% at 100 magic resistance;
  • 36% at 200 magic resistance.
• In order to match Oblivion Orb's or Morellonomicon's flat magic penetration, the enemy must have at least 37.5 magic resistance. Every champion except Yuumi, Aphelios and Orianna reaches at least 38.5 magic resistance from simply leveling up, making Void Staff the more efficient item in general.
