Innate: Xin Zhao gains a Determination I and Determination II stack for every Wind Becomes Lightning Wind Becomes Lightning strike or basic attack on-hit, up to a maximum of two.

At two Determination I stacks, Xin Zhao's next Wind Becomes Lightning Wind Becomes Lightning strike or basic attack on-hit consumes the stacks to Heal power.png heal him for 10 − 112 (based on level) (+ 10% AD) (+ 40% AP).

At two Determination II stacks, Xin Zhao's next Wind Becomes Lightning Wind Becomes Lightning strike or basic attack on-attack consumes the stacks to deal 15 / 25 / 35 / 45% (based on level) AD bonus physical damage.

  • Stacks reset when Xin Zhao Death.png dies.
  • Determination II deals Wit's End item.png proc damage.
  • When applied by a basic attack:
  • When applied by either of Wind Becomes Lightning's Wind Becomes Lightning's strikes:
    • Triggers against the closest target struck by the strike (equals first target to receive spell effects).
    • Does not benefit from Life steal icon.png life steal, including not healing from Wind Becomes Lightning's 33% conversion for this bonus damage.
    • Since Wit's End item.png proc damage is 'single target', Ravenous Hunter rune.png Vamp will heal from 100% of the bonus damage.
  • The Determination II stacks are not visible on the champion's buff bar in-game.
  • Hitting one or more enemies with Wind Becomes Lightning's Wind Becomes Lightning's strikes generates one stack per strike.
  • If Guinsoo's Rageblade Guinsoo's Rageblade would trigger when the Determination II stacks are at maximum, the bonus stack will instead overstack, and be consumed on the next Determination II usage.
  • PENDING FOR TEST: Determination's interaction with parrying effects (Counter Strike.png dodge, Spirit's Refuge.png block, Blind icon.png blind).

Active: Xin Zhao empowers his spear for 5 seconds, causing his next three basic attacks on-attack to become Excessive Force 2.png unstoppable, deal bonus physical damage and reduce Xin Zhao's other abilities' Cooldown reduction icon.png cooldowns by 1 second each. The second attack will refresh Three Talon Strike's duration.

The third basic attack consumes the effect to Airborne icon.png knock up the target for 0.75 seconds.

Three Talon Strike Bladework.png resets Xin Zhao's basic attack timer and is affected by Critical strike icon.png critical strike modifiers.

  • Spell Shield.png Spell shield will only block the third attack.
  • The enhanced attacks present input buffering during their wind-up animation (Xin Zhao cannot be issued any commands until after it ends).

Active: Xin Zhao performs two strikes in the target direction and delays the durations of Three Talon Strike Three Talon Strike, Audacious Charge's Audacious Charge's bonus attack speed, and Crescent Guard Crescent Guard relative to Wind Becomes Lightning's cast time after 0.2 seconds of its activation.

The first deals physical damage to all enemies in an arc, and the second deals physical damage in a line, Slow icon.png slowing all enemies hit by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Both strikes deal 50% damage against Minion icon.png minions.

Wind Becomes Lightning's damage Heal power.png heals Xin Zhao for 33.3% of his Life steal icon.png life steal.

  • Spell Shield.png Spell shield will block only a single instance of damage - either the thrust or the slash.
  • The first strike will occur immediately and the second will occur after the cast time completes.
  • Wind Becomes Lightning's first strike will always cast from the original casting position, whereas the second strike will cast from wherever Xin Zhao is at the end of the cast time.
  • Because Wind Becomes Lightning uses an older type of 'healing based on life steal' and not applies life steal, Spirit Visage Spirit Visage will amplify the life gain twice (+25% life steal and +25% healing), for a total of +56.25%.
  • The in-game tooltip of this ability currently lists the thrust scaling as AP*, but it still only scales with total AD.

Audacious Charge
COST: 50 Mana

Active: Xin Zhao Dash.png dashes to the target enemy's location, dealing magic damage to all enemies around the primary target and Slow icon.png slowing them by 30% for 0.5 seconds.

Magic Damage:
50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 60% AP)

Xin Zhao then gains Attack speed icon.png bonus attack speed for 5 seconds.

Bonus Attack Speed:
40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60%

Xin Zhao cannot cast Wind Becomes Lightning Wind Becomes Lightning while dashing, but he may still buffer it. Three Talon Strike Three Talon Strike and Crescent Guard Crescent Guard can both be cast during the dash.

  • The primary target cannot dodge Audacious Charge's effects.
    • The target will always emit the area of effect from their position.

Crescent Guard
COST: 100 Mana
COOLDOWN: 120 / 110 / 100

Passive - Challenge: The last enemy champion hit by Xin Zhao's basic attacks or Audacious Charge Audacious Charge is Challenged Challenged for 3 seconds.

Active: Xin Zhao sweeps his spear around him, dealing physical damage to enemies hit, capped at 600 (+ 100% bonus AD) against Monster icon.png monsters, while also Airborne icon.png knocking back all non-Challenged Challenged enemies hit.

Physical Damage:
75 / 175 / 275 (+ 100% bonus AD) (+ 15% of target's current health)

For the next 3 seconds, Xin Zhao is Cosmic Radiance.png invulnerable to enemy Champion icon.png champions more than 450-units away from him. His basic attacks and other ability casts extend the duration by 0.3 seconds.


Tips & Tricks
  • Enemies will not be marked as Challenged Challenged if Crescent Guard has not been learned. Learning the ability after an enemy would have been marked will still cause them to be Airborne icon.png knocked back.
