Brackern[]

Surrounded around the Shuriman Continent are several clans of Brackern, including clans in the Shuriman desert.

Dormun[]

The Dormun are gigantic, slow-moving creatures protected with large chitinous plates covering their body. In the harsh conditions of Shurima they have evolved to survive the perpetual drought by utilizing an unknown sense to locate hidden reservoirs of water. Incidentally, certain nomadic tribes have built themselves a permanent home upon the backs of these beasts where they clean the creature and hunt any airborne pests who venture near.

Eka'Sul[]

Desert goats that travel in herds.

Mwatis[]

Mwatis are goatlike creatures with large plated casques on their heads. Mwati wool and plate are prised for felting and insulation.

Kmiros[]

Gigantic scarabs that roam in swarms, looking for unfortunate travelers to feed on. They seem to be common prey for Rammus Rammus.

Outerbeasts[]

Beside the Xer'Sai, other creatures from the Void, referred to as 'outerbeasts', can be found in the desert.

  • Xer'Sai: Creatures from the Void that plague the southern deserts. They are the size of big dogs on average, but can be smaller or much bigger. Rek'Sai Rek'Sai, as the queen, is by far the largest and most dangerous of her species. Xer'sai burst from their small burrows and ravage anything nearby, to the detriment of desert caravans. Once dead, the Xer'sai decompose at an abnormally rapid rate and become inedible.

Ralsiji[]

Large and aggressive minotaur-like creatures. They are humpbacked quadrupeds with long limbs and thick horns.

Shuriman Camel[]

A breed of camels native to the deserts of Shurima and are used by caravans as well as common folk as primary mode of transportation. Despite being well-suited for lengthy travels in the desert landscape, they are still prey to a many predator such as the Xer'Sai.

Sandswimmers[]

Sandswimmers

Sandswimmers are massive quadrupedal creatures that traverse the Shuriman desert in cyclical patterns. They got their name due to their preferred method of travel. Their narrow bodies and webbed feet are perfectly design for swimming under the sand. They feed on bugs and other small creatures most desert beasts ignore. Scavengers will often memorize the predictable paths these creatures take, and jump onto their backs to ride as far as they wish.


Skallashi[]

The Skallashi are large quadrupedal herbivores. These hardy beasts of burden are common across Shurima, ideally suited to the harsh desert environment. Their key body feature is their long legs. Notoriously bad-tempered, they are nevertheless treated with great reverence. Their brown hides are often painted with sacred symbols of protection, and their horns hung with totems and charms. While these creatures are mostly used for travel and carrying heavy loads, on some larger skallashi people are able to built miniature rooms for more comfortable travel. To own one is often considered a sign of considerable prosperity.

Innate: Xin Zhao's basic attacks and Wind Becomes Lightning Wind Becomes Lightning strikes generate a stack of Determination, stacking up to 3 times. The third stack consumes them all to deal Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)15 / 30 / 45 / 60% (based on level) AD Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangebonus physical damage and heal Xin Zhao for Champions killed with Comeuppance (R)3 / 3.5 / 4% (based on level) of his maximum health Multiple champions hit with Between Worlds (R)(+ 65% AP).

Info
  • The stack counter displays 1–3 rather than the usual 0–2, meaning that a count of 1 does not translate to having 1 stack.
  • Wind Becomes Lightning's Wind Becomes Lightning's generates one stack per strike that hits at least one enemy.
  • Stacks reset when Xin Zhao dies.
  • Stacks of Determination will be gained even if the attack is blocked.
  • PENDING FOR TEST:: Determination's interaction with parrying effects ( dodge, blind).
  • Determination deals proc damage.
    • Since it is a separate instance of damage when applied by basic attack or either of Wind Becomes Lightning's Wind Becomes Lightning's strikes, flat damage reduction that applies to both the main and bonus damage such as Amumu's Amumu's Tantrum's Tantrum's passive will reduce each, for twice the reduction.
    • The bonus damage cannot critically strike.
  • When applied by a basic attack:
    • The attack uses a unique animation.
    • The bonus damage benefits from  life steal.
    • Neither the bonus damage or heal will be blocked by spell shield.
  • When applied by either of Wind Becomes Lightning's Wind Becomes Lightning's strikes:
    • Triggers against the closest target struck by the strike (equals first target to receive spell effects).
    • Does not benefit from  life steal, including not healing from Wind Becomes Lightning's 33% conversion for this bonus damage.
    • Since proc damage is 'single target', Vamp will heal from 100% of the bonus damage.
    • The bonus damage will be blocked by spell shield, the heal will not.

Wind Becomes Lightning

Active: Xin Zhao slashes in an arc and, after the cast time, thrusts his spear in a line in the target direction. Each strike deals Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage to enemies hit, modified to 50% − 100% (based on level) against minions.

The thrust deals increased damage, further by Time champions spent slowed by Miasma (W)0% − 33.3% (based on critical strike chance), and slows enemies hit by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Enemy champions and monsters hit are also marked Challenged for 3 seconds, during which they are revealed.

The durations of Three Talon Strike Three Talon Strike, Audacious Charge's Audacious Charge's Champions hit with Martial Cadence (P)bonus attack speed, and Crescent Guard Crescent Guard are delayed relative to Wind Becomes Lightning's cast time after 0.2 seconds of its activation.

Wind Becomes Lightning's damage heals Xin Zhao for 33.3% of his  life steal.

Active: Xin Zhao dashes to the target enemy's location, dealing Damage mitigated with Shifting Sands (E)magic damage to enemies near them and slowing them by 30% for 0.5 seconds. Audacious Charge's range is increased against Challenged targets.

Active: Xin Zhao sweeps his spear around him, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage to nearby enemies, capped at 600 against monsters, and knocking back all non-Challenged targets hit up-to 700 units over 0.75 seconds, as well as stunning them for the same duration.

  • Enemies will not be marked as Challenged Challenged if Crescent Guard has not been learned. Learning the ability after an enemy would have been marked will still cause them to be knocked back.

Once condemned to the fighting pits of Noxus, he survived countless gladiatorial bouts, but after being freed by Demacian forces, he swore his life and allegiance to these brave liberators. Armed with his favored three-talon spear, Xin Zhao now fights for his adopted kingdom, audaciously challenging any foe, no matter the odds.

  • During development, he was called XenZiou or XenZhao.
  • Xin Zhao is rendered, in Chinese localization, as 赵信 Zhào Xìn [ʈ͡ʂau̯˥˩ ɕin˥˩], coincidentally the name of a Xiongnu general who temporarily defected to Han Chinese forces, though historical inspiration for Xin Zhao is evidently another Chinese general, Zhao Yun.
    • xìn means "to believe, to trust" < Old Chinese *sins < *winʔ (cf. Sino-Tibetan root *yum[2] > 允 yǔn [ɥyn˨˩˦] "to be proper, to consent"[3]).
    • As a gladiator, Xin Zhao took the name of the fishing boat Viscero < Latin viscus "entrails", where he once worked on.
