Innate: Volibear gains 1 stack of The Relentless Storm whenever he damages an enemy with Basic Attack basic attacks on-hit and abilities, up to a maximum of 5. The Relentless Storm lasts for 6 seconds, refreshing whenever Volibear gains a stack. At maximum stacks, he gains Lightning Claws.

The Relentless Storm: Volibear gains Attack speed icon 5% bonus attack speed per stack, up to 25% bonus attack speed.

Lightning Claws: Volibear's claws ignite with lightning, causing his basic attacks on-hit to deal 11 − 60 (based on level) (+ 40% AP) bonus magic damage to the target and the closest Sight icon visible enemy within 450 units of the target, chaining up to 4 subsequent targets.

  • Volibear's spikes visually grow as The Relentless Storm stacks.
  • Volibear has a hidden passive that grants him 1 armor for every enemy Zilean OriginalSquare Zilean within 800 range of him.
    • Likewise, Zilean OriginalSquare Zilean gains 1 ability power for every nearby Volibear.
    • Neither Volibear nor Zilean OriginalSquare Zilean need Sight icon sight of one another to gain these bonuses.
  • The chain lightning does not apply Hunter's Talisman item Hunter's Talisman's burn or other spell effects, as it deals Umbra Blades default damage.
  • PENDING FOR TEST: The Relentless Storm interaction with Counter Strike dodging, Spirit's Refuge blocking, and Blind icon blinding effects.

Thundering Smash

Active: Volibear drops on all fours, becoming Ghost ghosted and gaining Movement speed icon bonus movement speed for 4 seconds, doubled when moving towards Sight icon visible enemy Champion icon champions.

20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60%

While active, Volibear's next basic attack within the duration Dash pounces on the target, deals bonus physical damage, and Stun icon stuns the target for 1 second.

20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 (+ 120% bonus AD)

If Volibear becomes Stun icon immobilized while Thundering Smash is active, the effect ends prematurely and the Cooldown reduction icon cooldown is reset.

Thundering Smash Bladework resets Volibear's basic attack timer, benefits from Life steal icon life steal and is affected by Critical strike icon critical strike modifiers.

  • Unlike most spells that empower a basic attack, Thundering Smash does not have an increased Range icon attack range.
  • Thundering Smash deals Basic Attack basic damage, but also triggers spell effects by dealing an additional 0 Disintegrate spell damage.
  • Thundering Smash can Dash dash over walls provided Volibear is in attack range of his target on the other side.
  • Thundering Smash's attack triggers against Turret icon structures and Ward icon wards, consuming the effect but dealing its bonus damage, if applicable.
  • If the attack's windup is Silence icon interrupted, neither the Stun icon stun nor damage is applied but Thundering Smash's cooldown is reset.
    • The windup completes even if the target becomes Playful untargetable or dies (no stun nor damage) as well as if they leave Sight icon sight (stun and damage applies).
  • Thundering Smash's reset does not trigger from Drowsy icon drowsy and is only granted after falling Sleep icon asleep.
  • The player's screen will flash red briefly when Volibear becomes Stun icon immobilized while Thunder Smash is active.

Frenzied Maul

Active: Volibear strikes the target enemy, dealing physical damage, applying on-hit effects, and Wounding them for 8 seconds.

15 / 52.5 / 90 / 127.5 / 165 (+ 150% AD) (+ 9% of his bonus health)

If Frenzied Maul targets a Wounded enemy, Volibear bites the target, dealing Critical strike icon 50% increased damage and Heal power healing himself. The heal is halved against Minion icon minions.

  • Frenzied Maul deals Basic Attack basic damage, but also triggers spell effects by dealing an additional 0 Disintegrate spell damage.
  • The empowered version of Frenzied Maul has a Critical strike icon cosmetic critical strike.
  • Frenzied Maul's bite Heal power heals even if it is blocked by Spell Shield spell shield.
  • Frenzied Maul's strike can be Counter Strike dodged and Spirit's Refuge blocked, but it cannot Blind icon miss. The Wound is applied regardless.
    • The bite can be Spirit's Refuge blocked but Volibear still heals. It does not heal nor deal damage if the bite is Counter Strike dodged. The bite cannot Blind icon miss.
  • If the target becomes Playful untargetable, dies, or Volibear loses Sight icon sight of them during the cast time, Frenzied Maul does not deal damage nor apply the mark but its Cooldown reduction icon cooldown and Mana icon mana are refunded.

Sky Splitter

Active: Volibear summons a lightning bolt to strike at the target location after a 2-second delay. Enemies can see the cast location indicator after a 1-second delay. If Volibear is within the lightning strike, he Hybrid resistances icon shields himself for 15% of his maximum health (+ 80% AP) for 3 seconds.

Sky Splitter 2

The lightning bolt deals magic damage to all enemies struck, capped against non-champions, Slow icon slowing them by 40% for 2 seconds, and grants Sight icon sight of the area for 1 second.

Active: Volibear gains Stormbringer for 12 seconds and Dash leaps to the target location with Cc-immune icon immunity to crowd control as well as granting Sight icon sight of the area in a 500 radius during it. If Thundering Smash Thundering Smash is active when Stormbringer is cast, its duration is refreshed.

Stormbringer: Volibear becomes Ghost ghosted and gains Health icon bonus health, Range icon 50 bonus attack range, 25 increased range on Frenzied Maul Frenzied Maul, and 25% increased size.

Volibear impacts after a 1 second delay, Slow icon slowing all enemies in an area by 50%, decaying over 1 second. Enemies in the epicenter are also dealt physical damage.

Volibear also disables enemy Turret icon turrets (including Playful untargetable ones) in an area for a few seconds, dealing them the same physical damage.

  • Volibear grows to his new size and shrinks back to his normal size over 1 second, respectively.
  • The dash takes the same amount of time regardless of distance or movement speed.
  • Volibear will be ordered to basic attack the nearest enemy champion in the area.
  • The damage of Stormbringer has a Critical strike icon cosmetic critical strike.
  • The additional bonuses are granted on-cast.
  • The turret disable debuff is named Ohmwrecker.
  • Disabling a Turret icon turret does not prevent aggro of the current target it is locked onto. The increased turret shot damage from Ohmwrecker item Ohmwrecker is also reset.
    • Turrets maintain the same targeting behavior even when disabled; damaging an enemy champion will still draw turret aggro. However, if the turret's desired target leaves range or has become an invalid target, it will lock onto the most previous target it was going to attack prior to becoming disabled, or instead, find a new one if that condition is not applicable.
