A unit card with Vocab Obliterate.

Obliterate is a Vocab in Legends of Runeterra.

EditCompletely remove specified copies of cards and their attachments from the current game.

When cards are obliterated from either player's deck or hand, they are shown to both of them.
Obliterated units are not considered dead or to have died.

Notes

• Obliterate does not trigger Death (eg. ) or Discard effects, and obliterated units aren't considered dead, and so can't be revived and so obliteration can counter these.
• In addition to card effects, cards can be obliterated by game mechanics under the following circumstances:
  • If a player plays a unit or landmark while their bench is full, they will need to replace one of the existing units or landmarks, which will be obliterated to make room for the newly played card. This does not apply if playing that unit/landmark would cause another unit/landmark to leave play (e.g. playing a Titanic unit while controlling 1 Sigil of the Storm).
  • If a player draws a card while their hand is full (by default, a player can only hold up to 10 cards), the drawn card is obliterated instead of being added to the hand.
  • If a card effect attempts to summon a landmark or unit that cannot fit on the board (e.g. summoning a non-attacking unit or landmark while its controller's bench is full, or summoning an attacking unit while there are already six attackers), the summoned card is obliterated instead.
  • If a Cursed unit leaves play, the associated Curse card is obliterated.
