Vladimir is voiced by Kevin M. Connolly.
Vladimir was the second champion released in Season One (the first being Xin Zhao) and is the only one labeled as Mage/ Tank.
Vladimir is one of four champions who use health as their abilities' resource (the others being Dr. Mundo, Mordekaiser, and Zac)
The old icon for Tides of Blood is similar to the old one for Ravenous Flock.
Vladimir doesn't actually drink the blood of his victims but rather absorbs the lifeforce within it.
His name (Russian: Влади́мир) comes from Old Church Slavonic Владимѣръ Vladiměrŭ, meaning "great ruler",
- The name is either native Slavonic or loaned from Germanic Waldemar.
- Folk etymologists re-interpret мѣръ měrŭ as миръ mir(ŭ) "world~peace".
Vladimir's new biography was written by EUW Summoner Blood Magicks: a reward for her victory in Riot's 2017 Polycount Creative Contest for narrative.^[1]^[2]

Many of his lines are blood-related puns and double-entendres.
"I'm a universal recipient" and his joke each reference a Blood type (AB+ and B- respectively)
"My cup is half empty" implies he's a pessimist.

He was inspired by Vlad the Impaler.
He references the titular Count from Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Blood Lord Vladimir's chest plate can be seen in the background of his splash art.

He is voiced by Gavin Hammon.

He is the second non-comical Legendary skin (the first being Demonblade Tryndamere).
His dance references contact juggling, specifically based on the performance done in this video.
