Vilemaw was the most powerful neutral Monster icon monster on Twisted Treeline icon Twisted Treeline. It served a similar role to the Baron Nashor Baron Nashor from Summoner's Rift icon Summoner's Rift.

Killing the Vilemaw granted the Crest of Crushing Wrath Crest of Crushing Wrath to all living teammates for 180 seconds, which greatly enhanced the stats of nearby allied minions as well as caused them to apply a brief Flee icon fear to enemy minions they come in contact with.

Features[]

Basic Attacks[]

Vilemaw will attack the unit closest to it.

  • Vilemaw has a melee and ranged attack. While targets are nearby, it sometimes performed devastating slam attacks that sent a shockwave in a line in the direction of its target.

Passives[]

  • Vilemaw's basic attacks applied a debuff that reduced the target's Attack speed icon armor and Attack speed icon magic resistance by 0.5, stacking up to 60 times for a total of 30 maximum resistances reduction. Melee attacks applied 1 stack and ranged attacks applied 4, while its slam attacks applied 15 stacks overtime.

Abilities[]

  • Periodically, while the Vilemaw was in combat, it would release a large web around its pit over 1 second, pulling all nearby units caught inside over 0.5 seconds, during which they were also Stun icon stunned.

Trivia[]

  • Vilemaw had an easter egg where if two champions danced in front of it, Vilemaw would dance along with them.
  • The skeleton of a dragon could be seen near Vilemaw. It was confirmed to be the former most powerful neutral monster Ebonmaw Ebonmaw (the dragon on Twisted Treeline) by Andrew 'Tamat' Beegle in a forum post found here, but Christina 'kitae' Norman says that this is merely a tribute and not canon.
    • Another tribute to Ebonmaw is Vilemaw having the word "maw" in his name.[1]
  • Upon defeat, Vilemaw doesn't simply die - instead, he retreats back into his lair in the background.
    • This may be a reference to the giant spider, Shelob, from Lord of the Rings who, when defeated by Sam, crawls back into her cave and is never mentioned again.
