Veigar is voiced by Bob Beal^[1].
- Veigar's Japanese voice actor is Natsuki Hanae, whom also voiced Japanese Heimerdinger and Japanese Ziggs.^[2]
Veigar in Legends of Runeterra, Final Boss Veigar and Fright Night Veigar are voiced by Scott McNeil.^[3]^[4]^[5]
- Hecarim, pre-V7.9 Maokai, Sion and Mecha Zero Sion are also voiced by the same voice actor.
During development, he was called Permission.
Veigar is named after Veigar Bouius, who previously worked as the Senior QA Analyst for Riot Games. He is "quite tall".
- With his Legends of Runeterra release, Veigar's name is pronounced 'vaɪ-gär (i.e. "vy-gar").
All of Veigar's active abilities (excluding Baleful Strike) refer to space. Event Horizon a reference to the edge of a black hole, the point at which light cannot escape. Dark Matter a reference to the undetectable matter in space. Primordial Burst a reference to the Big Bang, the prevailing cosmological model that explains the early development of the Universe. His old passive, Equilibrium, which means "Balance", is an important concept in stellar and orbital physics.
Veigar's appearance is similar to the Black Mage, a character from the Final Fantasy series.
Event Horizon used to deal 1 point of true damage to all units inside the cage and in very rare occasions it could even kill a unit when it was at 1 health.
