Client

Nexus Blitz
  • Nexus Blitz returns to live servers from December 6th, 2018 to January 21, 2019 (11:59 p.m. PT).
  • Map
    • Map art has been updated to be prettier and more polished using SR assets.
    • Added a ton of announcer VO to tell you what's going on.
    • Map has been adjusted to increase jungle variance, reduce snowball, and enforce a longer laning phase.
  • Jungle
    • Added a new middle jungle with a gromp beween the lanes.
    • There is no longer a river, and Waterwalking rune Waterwalking will be swapped for Scorch rune Scorch. The river may come back if we make Nexus Blitz permanent.
    • Red buff has been moved down towards top lane.
    • Blue buff has been moved into the middle jungle to encourage fights around bot lane.
    • Jungle experience and gold has been decreased over game time to account for the 4th camp.
    • Jungle camp damage/health/resist scaling has been reduced. This should make it easier to jungle alone as the game progresses. Jungling together is still important early and still gives bonus gold/XP for the entire game.
    • GrompSquare Gromp no longer takes bonus damage from single target spells or when CC'd
    • Murk WolfSquare Wolves still explode because it is the biologically correct thing for wolves to do.
  • Lane
    • Minions now spawn slightly more often.
    • Minions are worth slightly less gold and experience.
    • Bug Fix: Fixed a bug where minion global gold wasn't granted to people who were dead.
    • Global gold from minions and monsters has been slightly reduced (should help with snowball).
    • Minion late game MS has been reduced.
    • Inhibitor turrets have 50% damage reduction until both outer towers have been destroyed.
    • Added a second nexus turret and decreased Nexus turret health.
  • Events
    • Time between events has been slightly normalized.
    • The first event of the game is now announced in champion select.
    • The next event will be now revealed 30 seconds before it starts (instead of on event start).
    • Certain events have received updated score meters to better represent what is going on.
    • New Event - Arena: Series of speedy 2v2s and 1v1s in the center of the map. Matchups are balanced around how much gold you have.
    • New Event - URF Deathmatch: Everyone has URF powers and everyone has 3 lives. Brawl until only one team remains.
    • Removed Event: Snowball Fight.
    • Sudden Death
      • Death timers are set to 15 seconds during Sudden Death.
      • Nexus minions will now wait for each other near the middle of the map instead of pathing into the enemy base.
      • Added new models for the Nexus male/female.
    • Push the Cart
      • Added a Attack/Defend variant.
      • Push the Cart now has overtime.
      • Standing in the cart circle is now guaranteed to stop it pushing.

Ranked
  • See a provisional rank after just one Ranked game. It's only visible to you until your placements are complete.
  • In your remaining placement games, you earn bonus LP in wins and can't lose LP.
  • After your placement games, your rank will be available for all to see.
  • There's no reset during preseason, so you'll need to be unranked in a queue to try new placements before season start.
  • All players currently in Master and Challenger will be moved to Master at 0 LP.
  • Grandmaster and Iron will be added.
  • Grandmaster and Challenger will be locked, no one can promote into it.
  • After one week, Grandmaster unlocks and you can promote into it.
  • After two weeks, Challenger unlocks and you can promote into it.
  • This change does not impact underlying MMR at all, so matchmaking will be unaffected.
  • Preseason is the time of year to build technical confidence in Grandmaster ahead of season start on January 24.
  • Players who are in Division V of a tier will move to Division IV until the standard season reset.
  • Your ranked armor is a new way to show off your current rank now appears on your profile, Ranked dashboard, hovercard, and in-game lobbies.
  • Switch between Ranked and level armor by clicking on your summoner icon.
  • The end-of-game screen is rejiggered to make your LP gains more clear.
  • The Ranked dashboard for Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger now more clearly shows promotion and demotion cutoffs.
  • Loading screen borders now reflect your current rank in the selected queue; you can click player cards to see their past rank banner.

  • Your Shop returns from December 6, 2018 (8:00 AM PT) to January 7, 2019 (11:59 PM PT).

Bounty System
  • The new bounty system has been fixed on non-Summoner's Rift maps.
Champion Clones
  • If a champion is affected with a debuff when they create a clone, the clone will now also have that debuff.
Hotkeys
  • New hotkeys have been added for champions with extra buttons, like Kindred OriginalSquare Kindred's hunt bar and Neeko OriginalSquare Neeko's shapeshift bar. These hotkeys won't do anything for champions without extra actions.
    • Default keybinding: Shift+F1 through Shift+F5.
