League of Legends V14.8[]

- Anti-cheat
- Riot Vanguard, Riot's proprietary signature anti-cheat, is being launched for League of Legends in the Philippines (PH) server alongside the launch of this patch. It is expected to launch globally with the next patch, 14.9.
- Players will receive a prompt in the Riot Client before proceeding with the installation of this patch, informing them of Vanguard's implementation. After Vanguard is installed, at least one full PC restart is required in order to enable it and proceed with playing the game.

- DirectX Support
- This is an announcement for a future change. DirectX 9 will no longer be legacy-compatible with and be supported for League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, and this is initially planned for patch V14.9.
- Players who are using the DirectX 9 API by opting-in from later versions will be automatically opted-out when the change is live.
- Players who are using DirectX 9 due to hardware limitations must upgrade their device in order to continue playing.
- A chat message has been added upon starting a game, to notify of DX9 compatibility mode no longer being available in the near future:
