So I don't know how many of you read this dev blog - http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/creative-spotlight/dev-blog-exploring-runeterra - but it's seems like it's pretty important (for the lore), especially Rioter's comments:

"No, Summoners, the Fields of Justice and the Institute are not canon within the fictional world of Runeterra. In-game, players are still referred to as summoners - but summoners won't be part of the story." from Carnival J

"To an extent the gameplay and story will be separate. They're not totally separate, (for instance, Darius will always feel like Darius no matter where you see him, and the maps will always be evocative of actual places within the world) but there won't be an in-story justification for five unrelated champions tearing each other apart in the game over and over." also from Carnival J

And a bunch of other comments from Rioters basically confirming what Carnival said. My question is... what do you think about it? Do you like Riot's decision or not? And what is going to happen with wikia pages about these stuff (Summoners, Institute of War, etc.) since it is no longer canon?

To be honest I'm a little torn. I think the concept of summoners kinda limited the story and potential for events or changes to lores.
