General

Urgot, the Headsman's Pride

Urgot and Thresh used to be the only champions classified as ranged tanks before having their roles changes in 2013.
- Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser and Death Sentence are the only two in-game tethered abilities without a minimum leash range.
Urgot used to be the only champion in the game classified as a Marksman/ Tank. However, his champion classification has since been changed to Juggernaut.
- During the time that Gnar was revealed on PBE, he was classified as a Marksman/ Tank. However, Gnar was released as a Fighter / Marksman, a champion classification he shared with Jayce.
Urgot resembles a number of quadrupeds from various other games.
- Makron (leader of the Strogg) from the Quake video game series.
- Azmodan the Lord of Sin from Diablo III.
- "The Spineless Ones" from the X-Men, the best-known of them being Mojo. They are a fat alien race of rotten appearance who can not move on their own without advanced technology.
- Yagrum Bagarn from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
According to Babaganoosh, Urgot was unavailable for the Ionia vs Noxus match due to being damaged and needing considerable time to be repaired. He received a major strength buff in the following patch release.
Urgot's dance references Kirby's Victory Dance.

During his second champion spotlight for his rework, David 'Phreak' Turley jokingly said that Urgot will be the next Star Guardian, a reference to a long-standing joke in the community.
Urgot is the only champion that can kill the Enemy Target Dummies in the practice tool, By using Fear Beyond Death on them when they has 25% health or lower.

Urgot, the Dreadnought

Urgot is one of 20 champions without a single ability power ratio on any ability: Aatrox, Camille, Darius, Dr. Mundo, Draven, Garen, Kayn, Kled, Naafiri, Nilah, Olaf, Pyke, Riven, Samira, Sett, Talon, Urgot, Xayah, Yone, and Zed.
His dance references the Can-Can.
- He shares this dance with Elise and Final Boss Veigar.

His login screen theme is sung in Noxian. The repeated chant is "Stom Ur Got!"^[1]
- Noxian is close to German, according to a Rioter.

Development

Urgot is voiced by Paul M. Guyet.
His name possibly comes from Latin urgeo "I push, press".
Urgot was designed by both Kevin 'Geeves' O'Brien and Siyang 'Issfire'.
Urgot was the first champion revealed in the Journal of Justice (Issue 3: Reclaiming the Lost) before being officially announced (not counting Sejuani's token mention).
Urgot was the first released cyborg champion, before Viktor, Camille, and recently Orianna, after lore-retconning made her a normal girl that was gradually mechanised.

Professor Stanwick Pididly's quote at the end of Urgot's background info is a reference to the "The Six Million Dollar Man".

Skins

Original Urgot

The scene depicts him getting a tattoo and some metalwork done to his legs.
In his old splash art, Urgot had tubes coming out of his body that lead to his skull. They were not visible on his in-game model, though.

Butcher Urgot

This skin shares the Trick-or-Treat theme with:

His pre-rework art used to reference to Leatherface from the "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" franchise.
- In the background, a sign reading "Manatee 1/2 off" is visible. This is a reference to Urf.
He resembles the Sadist from The Evil Within.

Giant Enemy Crabgot

This skin refers the eponymous trope.
After his visual rework, this skin references Kaiju monsters.
- His splash art references a somewhat common occurrence in Kaiju films where the monster emerges from the sea depths, near a floating boat or ship.
  - This splash may be specifically referencing the movie Pacific Rim, and the scene in which Knifehead surfaces in front of a fishing boat, only to get locked in combat with Gipsy Danger shortly after.
- Crabgot's appearance also references Pacific Rim as his body seems to be embedded with energy (shining through his eyes, within the claws, and other small gaps), something that is prominent with Pacific Rim's Kaiju monsters compared to monsters in other Kaiju films.
  - He shares some similarities with the Kaiju known has Onibaba from Pacific Rim.

Battlecast Urgot

This skin shares the Battlecast theme with:

In the old art, he is stomping on a torn banner of Demacia while Garen's broadsword is visible in the background, implying that Urgot had slain him.
He may or may not be a reference to Beyond Good and Evil's Alpha Soldiers, as Battlecast Urgot and them are very similar.
May be a reference to Warhammer 40,000 Helbrutes/Dreadnaughts .
- The Pearl chroma of the skin specificially is very similar to the color scheme of the Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines legion.
In the Nautilus Art Spotlight, around 2:50, a tab saying Urgot Mech can be seen in the top left. This was likely the development name for Battlecast Urgot.

High Noon Urgot
Chromas: Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Turquoise

This skin shares the High Noon theme with:

During his Recall he stomps the ground, emerging some runes. He then sucks the energy out of the runes into his hand they dispensary. A small explosion happens on his hand, which is him opening portals into the ground that release evil spirits.^[2]
In his bio he's stated to have been called Jeremiah James. This name is however only canon in this skin universe.^[3]
He was released along with:

Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot
Chromas: Amethyst, Catseye, Emerald, Obsidian, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Ruby

This skin shares the Definitely Not theme with:

He celebrates April Fools' Day 2020 along with:

- Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar
  - Pengu Cosplay Tristana and Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar can be seen in the background of his splash art, as well as figurines and posters of Star Guardian Ezreal.
Each of his chromas are a reference to other Star Guardians:
- For his Ruby chroma, he is cosplaying Kiko, Ahri's familiar.
- For his Emerald chroma, he is cosplaying Pix, Lulu's familiar.
- For his Rose Quartz chroma, he is cosplaying Mimi, Lux's familiar.
- For his Obsidian chroma, he is cosplaying Riku, Rakan's familiar.
- For his Amethyst chroma, he is cosplaying one of the Multi, Syndra's familiars.

This skin was inspired by numerous community made fan skins of Star Guardian Urgot.
He is a fan of Star Guardian Ezreal and his familiar Yuuto, as well as Pajama Guardian Ezreal, all of which were his inspirations for cosplaying.
His design may be inspired by Senior Pink.

Relations

Both Urgot and Darius believe weakness should be purged from Noxus. However while Darius believes the strong are right to rule, Urgot believes in the war of all against all, where only the strong can truly survive.
- When taunting Katarina, Urgot implies that Swain was involved in her father's disappearance.
Urgot was caught by Caitlyn and Vi after losing a fight to them during a turmoil he started.
- Vi almost killed Urgot due to the chaos and casualty he caused, including the death of Roe, a girl from Vi's childhood.
