Skill usage

• Use Bear Stance to stun an enemy champion before attacking it.
  • Bear Stance cannot stun a unit recently stunned for 6 seconds, so it is a good idea to use a different stance after initiating or targeting another unit or champion to stun.
  • Tiger Stance can be used activated followed by Bear Stance if the target is hit within five seconds of Tiger Stance its Dot can be applied at the same time as the stun from Bear Stance.
• Upon entering a stance for the first time in a game, the stance can be used again immediately without having to wait for it to cool down. Using the active of tiger stance twice in this way on a squishy enemy champion at the start of the game can give you a huge advantage and even let you draw first blood.
• With an ability power build, try using Phoenix Stance and Turtle Stance. For an attack damage build, try using Tiger Stance and for both of them try using Bear Stance.
• Phoenix Stance is useful for groups of minions and farming, but Tiger Stance is often best suited for single target damage.
• The attack speed from activating Tiger Stance persists if you switch stances, so you can switch to Phoenix Stance and get the extra burst from the third Phoenix Stance hit sooner.
  • Try to remember in which order you stunned your enemies with Bear Stance so you can immediately stun them all again when 6 seconds are up.
• When running away, alternate between Bear Stance and Turtle Stance in order to get maximum stacks of Monkey's Agility.
• Stay away from ranged stunners/slowers. You will become an easy target if you cannot get in melee range.
• When pushing a turret, alternate between Tiger Stance and Phoenix Stance is very effective for the large attack speed bonus from Tiger combined with the AD bonus from Phoenix Stance.
• Udyr is a natural jungler with Turtle Stance allowing Udyr to gain his health back, normally learning a skill point in Phoenix Stance or Tiger Stance at level one for effective jungling.
  • Rotating between your stances gives you a boost in both Attack Speed and Dodge from his passive Monkey's Agility.
  • At the start of a game, the very first time you enter a stance you do not trigger the 1 second global cooldown or the regular cooldown timer. This is helpful for jungling with the use of Tiger Stance, as it enables both an additional stack on Monkey's Agility if fighting the golem, and allows you to hit for a second burst on Tiger Stance in two seconds rather than five. This may be a bug and unintended.
    • Udyr has a variety of different jungle routes depending on the situation, the team you are in and the enemy team.
• Be careful of what skills you learn as Udyr cannot max out all of his skills. Each skill is capped at level 5, but the max level is 18, therefore one of Udyr's skill has a weaker level than its full potential. Depending on the skill build, sometimes it is wiser to have two skills at level 4 than to have one skill at level 3.

Build usage

• Udyr is a pure melee Champion, he will need survivability to enter the fray and deal damage, so getting items such as Hexdrinker and Wriggle's Lanternis a good choice.
• While Phoenix Stance and Turtle Stance benefit a little from AP, building an ap build is not recommended, while AD will make Tiger Stance hit much harder and increase udyr's DPS from auto attacks.
• Udyr has one of the highest attack speed in the game whith Tiger Stance at level 5 and maximum stacks of Monkey's Agility, buying two attack speed items such as Wit's End and Madred's Bloodrazor would probably be enough to get near the 2.5 attacks per seconds cap, which would greatly increase the damage output from Phoenix Stance.
• With Spirit Visage Udyr can heal much faster with Turtle Stance allowing you to spend more points on other abilities than Turtle Stance.
