The trinket slot as it appeared in Season Four.

The current trinket slot. The fourth slot is responsible for holding trinket items.

Trinkets are a category of items introduced in Season 4 and the preseason. They are placed in the trinket slot, which is independent from the player's main inventory and can only hold trinket items.[1] Using a trinket does not break Teemo Guerrilla Warfare.png stealth.

Purchasing and Selling Trinkets

Trinkets can be found in the Vision & Trinkets category under Tools in the shop.

All trinkets are totally free, and can be swap between each other for no cost. Changing a trinket will remain the same cooldown as the previous trinket.

Upgrades

All basic Trinkets are granted lower cooldowns and increased effects as their owner gains levels. Additionally, you must reach level 9 or above in order to upgrade your basic Trinket into an advanced Trinket.

Basic Trinkets

Item Name Stats Can be changed for Requirements
Unique – Trinket: Consume a charge to place an invisible Totem Ward icon.png Totem Ward at the target location, which reveals the surrounding area for 90 − 120 (based on average of all champion levels) seconds (240 − 120 (based on average of all champion levels) seconds recharge time; 2 charges; 600 range). Oracle Lens item.png Farsight Alteration item.png Level 1
Summoner's Rift

Summoner's Rift

Advanced Trinkets

Item Name Stats Can be changed for Requirements
Unique – Trinket: Reveals an area for 2 seconds. Enemy champions inside the area at the time of placement will be Sight icon.png revealed for 5 seconds. This does not affect stealthed champions. Also places a visible Farsight Ward icon.png Farsight Ward at the target location that lasts indefinitely (198 − 99 (based on average of all champion levels) second cooldown; 4000 range). Stealth Ward item.png Oracle Lens item.png Level 9
Summoner's Rift

Other trinkets

Item Name Stats Maps
Unique – Herald's Call: Channeling icon.png Channel for 1 second and summon the Eye of the Herald in front of you, which is crushed over 5 seconds to summon an allied Rift Herald Rift Herald that sieges enemy structures. This effect is placed on a 3-second cooldown while in combat with non-Minion icon.png minions. Unique – Glimpse of the Void: Gain Empowered Recall Empowered Recall. Replaces the trinket item in your trinket slot after picking up the eye that spawns after slaying Rift Herald Rift Herald on Summoner's Rift.
Teleports to one of the battle platforms. Can only be used from the summoning platform. Grants Taric Cosmic Radiance.png invulnerability after teleporting for 1.5 seconds. Crystal Scar (Ascension)
Serves a scrumptious scoop to a nearby Poro, causing it to grow in size. Howling Abyss
Definitely Not Dominion: Sight icon.png Reveals the selected area for 3 seconds. Enemy champions hit will be Sight icon.png revealed for 5 seconds (120 second cooldown; 2500 / 3500 (based on level) range; 550 radius). Summoner's Rift (Nexus Siege)
Crystal Scar (Definitely not Dominion)
Unique – Trinket: Consume a charge to place a visible Totem Ward icon.png Effigy at the target location, which reveals the surrounding area. The effigy visually appears exactly as Fiddlesticks Fiddlesticks does to enemies while idle. Enemy Champion icon.png champions that approach an effigy while having Sight icon.png sight of it will activate it, causing the effigy to fake a random action, after which the effigy will deal 1 damage to itself (115 − 30 (based on level) seconds recharge time; 2 charges; 625 range). Summoner's Rift and on the Howling Abyss only if Poro-Snax Poro-Snax is used.

Strategy

  • Stealth Ward Stealth Ward can be used to ensure the safety of nearby brush, or keep an eye on a position in the lane that could be quickly overrun by the presence of enemy minions.
  • Oracle Lens Oracle Lens grants you True Sight icon.png true sight for the duration, revealing stealthed champions, and giving you the ability to disable any opposing wards and invisible traps, letting you counter the use of enemy trinkets and keep you and your teammates stealthed, and is a major counter to abilities such as Teemo's Teemo's Noxious Trap Noxious Trap.
  • Farsight Alteration Farsight Alteration grants you Sight icon.png sight in the cast range for 5 seconds while also placing a Farsight Ward icon.png Farsight Ward in the middle of the casted zone indefinitely, it can be used to quickly reveal a zone without getting yourself in danger. Farsight Alteration Farsight Alteration is often bought on ranged carries preferring a long range warding placement over a dangerous warding game. Seer Stone Seer Stone has the same mechanic but will not place a Farsight Ward icon.png Farsight Ward.

Limitations

  • Since there is only one inventory slot for trinkets, a player can only own one trinket at any given moment.
  • Trinkets can be used as soon as they are bought, even in the 30 first seconds for the game.

Trivia

  • Trinkets were originally called "Relics" during their early stage of development.[2]
