Sight

Sight is a property of units, structures, certain summoner spells, items, and abilities that represents a team possessing vision of a target area or unit. It is always Range center.png center range.

Sight can also refer to an effect that makes a unit visible regardless of the fog of war or Brushmaker.png brush, allowing them to be targeted. Standard sight cannot see Guerrilla Warfare.png stealthed units, but True Sight icon.png True Sight can.

  • Nearsight icon.png Nearsight is a Stun icon.png crowd control debuff that inhibits sight; allied vision is lost in addition to a reduced sight radius.
  • Sweeper Drone icon.png Obscured vision is similar to sight in a way that it can observe units, but does not render units targetable, rather it exposes their position and informs of their presence.
  • Stealth Ward icon.png Unobstructed vision is a form of sight that allows a unit to be able to see their full vision radius, ignoring any obstructions that would otherwise restrict visibility.
  • All effects that use Leap Strike.png unit-targeting require sight of the target. Delayed unit-targeted attacks and spells can cancel if sight of the selected target is suddenly lost.

All tip data templates use the same parameter.

Retrieval of data items

{{data Sight|pst2|interrupts}}, using parameter selection template Template:Pst2, gives the parameter interrupts, etc.

For retrieval of more data items it is more efficient to prepare a template for that, to be used as follows:

{{data Sight|template name|..|..|..|..}}

so that this data template needs to be called only once.[1] The default template is Template:Tip data, producing this page.

The four parameters are optional, they are passed on to the prepared template as parameters 2-5.

A parameter being undefined or empty typically means the same, see below. {{data ..|pst2|..}} gives the empty string and the text "{{{..}}}", respectively. Therefore, an application checking the parameter has to check both. Checking whether a result is equal to e.g. the text "{{{popinc}}}" cannot be done directly with #ifeq in a template which itself has also a parameter with that name, because if that is defined, there would be a comparison with the value instead of the text itself. Instead, it can be checked whether the first character of the result is "{", e.g.: {{#ifeq:{{padleft:|1|{{data {{{continent}}}|pst2|popinc}}}}|{|..|..}}. Until here the documentation is automatically generated by Template:Tip data.
