Root icon

A unit that is entangled is Root icon rooted.

A unit that is rooted is unable to control its movement or activate Dash dashing or Flash blinking spells for the duration. This effect does not innately Knockdown icon knockdown a target that is already performing a dash.

Entangle is the signature effect of Amumu OriginalSquare Amumu's Curse of the Sad Mummy Curse of the Sad Mummy, which also Knockdown icon knock downs and Disarm icon disarms the targets.

Interrupts: Interrupts attack windups (Excessive Force 2 unstoppable basic attacks exception) and Channeling icon movement channels unless otherwise stated.
Reduction: The duration is affected by Tenacity icon Tenacity.
Resist: Resisted by Cc-immune icon crowd control immunity.
Removal: Removed by Remove Scurvy Cleanses. Mikael's Crucible item Mikael's Crucible will only remove the Root icon root portion of Entangle and not the Disarm icon disarm.

Most crowd control effects are applied by attacks or abilities that can be blocked with Spell Shield spell shields.

  • Crowd control applied by one's self or an ally cannot be countered in any way, neither reduced in duration, resisted, nor removed unless special cased to do so.
    • The crowd control effect may still be Remove Scurvy cleansed if it is applied as a debuff separate from the originated ability.

Retrieval of data items

{{data Entangle|pst2|interrupts}}, using parameter selection template Template:Pst2, gives the parameter interrupts, etc.

For retrieval of more data items it is more efficient to prepare a template for that, to be used as follows:

{{data Entangle|template name|..|..|..|..}}

so that this data template needs to be called only once.[1] The default template is Template:Tip data, producing this page.

The four parameters are optional, they are passed on to the prepared template as parameters 2-5.

A parameter being undefined or empty typically means the same, see below. {{data ..|pst2|..}} gives the empty string and the text "{{{..}}}", respectively. Therefore, an application checking the parameter has to check both. Checking whether a result is equal to e.g. the text "{{{popinc}}}" cannot be done directly with #ifeq in a template which itself has also a parameter with that name, because if that is defined, there would be a comparison with the value instead of the text itself. Instead, it can be checked whether the first character of the result is "{", e.g.: {{#ifeq:{{padleft:|1|{{data {{{continent}}}|pst2|popinc}}}}|{|..|..}}. Until here the documentation is automatically generated by Template:Tip data.
