Brackern[]

Surrounded around the Shuriman Continent are several clans of Brackern, including clans in the Shuriman desert.

Dormun[]

The Dormun are gigantic, slow-moving creatures protected with large chitinous plates covering their body. In the harsh conditions of Shurima they have evolved to survive the perpetual drought by utilizing an unknown sense to locate hidden reservoirs of water. Incidentally, certain nomadic tribes have built themselves a permanent home upon the backs of these beasts where they clean the creature and hunt any airborne pests who venture near.

Eka'Sul[]

Desert goats that travel in herds.

Mwatis[]

Mwatis are goatlike creatures with large plated casques on their heads. Mwati wool and plate are prised for felting and insulation.

Kmiros[]

Gigantic scarabs that roam in swarms, looking for unfortunate travelers to feed on. They seem to be common prey for Rammus Rammus.

Outerbeasts[]

Beside the Xer'Sai, other creatures from the Void, referred to as 'outerbeasts', can be found in the desert.

  • Xer'Sai: Creatures from the Void that plague the southern deserts. They are the size of big dogs on average, but can be smaller or much bigger. Rek'Sai Rek'Sai, as the queen, is by far the largest and most dangerous of her species. Xer'sai burst from their small burrows and ravage anything nearby, to the detriment of desert caravans. Once dead, the Xer'sai decompose at an abnormally rapid rate and become inedible.

Ralsiji[]

Large and aggressive minotaur-like creatures. They are humpbacked quadrupeds with long limbs and thick horns.

Shuriman Camel[]

A breed of camels native to the deserts of Shurima and are used by caravans as well as common folk as primary mode of transportation. Despite being well-suited for lengthy travels in the desert landscape, they are still prey to a many predator such as the Xer'Sai.

Sandswimmers[]

Shurima Sandswimmers

Sandswimmers

Sandswimmers are massive quadrupedal creatures that traverse the Shuriman desert in cyclical patterns. They got their name due to their preferred method of travel. Their narrow bodies and webbed feet are perfectly design for swimming under the sand. They feed on bugs and other small creatures most desert beasts ignore. Scavengers will often memorize the predictable paths these creatures take, and jump onto their backs to ride as far as they wish.

Skallashi[]

The Skallashi are large quadrupedal herbivores. These hardy beasts of burden are common across Shurima, ideally suited to the harsh desert environment. Their key body feature is their long legs. Notoriously bad-tempered, they are nevertheless treated with great reverence. Their brown hides are often painted with sacred symbols of protection, and their horns hung with totems and charms. While these creatures are mostly used for travel and carrying heavy loads, on some larger skallashi people are able to built miniature rooms for more comfortable travel. To own one is often considered a sign of considerable prosperity.

Champion Sneak Peek: Talon, The Blade's Shadow[]

By Average Gatsby[2]

Talon Teaser

It takes a truly resourceful gentleman to seamlessly combine function and style, particularly on the battlefield. It should come as no surprise, then, that the upcoming champion of the League is a man of both utility and flair.

Allow me to introduce Talon Talon, The Blade's Shadow. In addition to looking every bit the part of the cloaked and cowled assassin that he is, Talon's cloak of blades makes him a dangerous and terrifying presence on the battlefield. It's probably best to steer clear of this cloaked and dangerous champion on the Field of Justice, or he won't be the only one pulling a disappearing act.

Talon Mechanics Preview[]

By Ryan 'Morello' Scott[3]

Greetings, Summoners!

Today we wanted to bring you a peek into the mechanics behind Talon Talon, the Blade's Shadow, the new assassin that's joining the League!

Talon, the Blade's Shadow, is a physical damage assassin who specializes in high-mobility, high-risk, high-reward gameplay. Our goal with Talon was to create a powerful but fragile melee character with specialized tools to make him both deadly and evasive. As a result, what Talon lacks in durability and sustain, he dishes out in mobility and power.

The driving force behind Talon's gameplay is the way that he engages and disengages from combat using his four abilities:

Mercy
Mercy
Talon's auto-attacks deal additional damage to a target that is under the influence of any crowd control effect.

Noxian Diplomacy
Noxian Diplomacy old
Talon viciously stabs his enemy, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangeheavy physical damage and causing them to leave a blood trail that Talon can use to track them.

Rake
Rake old
Talon fans out three blades in front of him that quickly return to him, dealing damage and Slow icon slowing any target hit in either direction.

Cutthroat
Cutthroat
An ability that allows Talon to catch his enemies by surprise. Talon leaps behind his target and Silence icon silences them for a short duration, amplifying the damage of any of his follow up attacks and abilities.

Shadow Assault
Shadow Assault old
Talon enters stealth for a short duration, gaining a movement speed boost and sending blades that deal damage to all enemies in their path flying in every direction. Once the blades reach a certain distance, they pause and form a circle. When Talon reappears from stealth, the blades return to him, once again dealing damage to any opponent they pass through.

Playing Talon effectively is all about reading the situation and reacting strategically to your target. Shadow Assault Shadow Assault can be either your saving grace or your deadliest advance. Using it to disappear can sting your target and leave them chasing ghosts. But if it's a fight you want, using it to initiate in conjunction with Cutthroat Cutthroat, Noxian Diplomacy Noxian Diplomacy, and Mercy Mercy can deal significant burst damage.

To sum up, Talon's a mean, shadowy, vicious assassin... and we're excited to see him join the League soon. And as a side note, his mobility and elusiveness makes him a very good pick on Dominion!

2017 Season Update[]

He's League's original cloak-and-dagger contract killer, and we're adding more precision to Talon's Talon's bladed assault. Outfitted with the new terrain-hopping Assassin's Path Assassin's Path, there's no wall too steep to keep Talon from his targets.[4]

Blade's End
Blade's End
Talon's abilities wound champions and epic monsters for a short duration, stacking up to three times. When Talon basic attacks a fully wounded target, they bleed for a large amount of Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage over time.

Noxian Diplomacy
Noxian Diplomacy
Leaps to a target, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage. If cast from melee range, Talon instead Critical strike icon critically strikes the target. Whenever Noxian Diplomacy kills a unit, Talon Champions killed with Comeuppance (R)regains a small amount of health.

Rake
Rake
Tosses a volley of blades in a direction, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage and returning after a brief delay. On their return, the blades deal Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangeincreased physical damage and briefly Slow icon slow all enemies hit.

Assassin's Path
Assassin's Path
Targeting terrain allows Talon to do a super-cool vault over it. Talon can't vault over the same terrain for a long period of time.

Shadow Assault
Shadow Assault
Fires a ring of blades from Talon's location, increasing movement speed and making him Twilight Shroud old2 invisible for a few seconds. When Talon emerges from stealth, the blades converge on his location, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage each time they pass through an enemy. If Talon breaks his stealth by basic attacking or using Noxian Diplomacy Noxian Diplomacy, the blades will converge on his target's location instead.
