- passive will apply to spell vamp multiplicatively. For example, it will modify 20% spell vamp to 25% spell vamp (20% × 1.25 = 25%).
- Spell vamp applies to all damage types and will benefit from any damage that triggers spell effects, which is usually sourced from abilities and item actives.
- Proc damage ( on-hit damage, e.g. , , ), default damage (e.g. , , ), and basic damage (damage dealt by raw basic attacks) do not trigger spell effects and thus do not benefit from sources of spell vamp.
- Damage dealt by area of effects benefit from a third of the vamp acquired.
- Although some abilities may be single-targeted, that does not mean they never deal area damage; deals area of effect damage to all enemies, despite targeting only one unit.
- Abilities such as spell damage if only one target is hit and area damage if multiple targets are hit. The former benefiting from vamp at 100% effectiveness and the latter benefiting from vamp at 33% effectiveness. and that deal modified damage based on the number of enemies hit will deal
- Persistent damage (e.g. , , and ) will benefit from vamp at 100% effectiveness.
