- Vol Visperi-Desinvei, the pact that bound Grandmother Viper's brood to the royal family of Camavor, roughly translates to "will of (old slur for dragons) and (old slur for humans)".[9]
- Smolder is bilingual, able to speak both draconic and human languages. His mother primarily speaks with him in draconic in order for him to not lose touch with his cultural ancestry.[10]
- This was based on Kristina 'Goblin' Atanasoski's experience of not growing up bilingual and not being able to connect with her father on a level he'd be more comfortable communicating in.[11][12]
