Brackern[]

Surrounded around the Shuriman Continent are several clans of Brackern, including clans in the Shuriman desert.

Dormun[]

The Dormun are gigantic, slow-moving creatures protected with large chitinous plates covering their body. In the harsh conditions of Shurima they have evolved to survive the perpetual drought by utilizing an unknown sense to locate hidden reservoirs of water. Incidentally, certain nomadic tribes have built themselves a permanent home upon the backs of these beasts where they clean the creature and hunt any airborne pests who venture near.

Eka'Sul[]

Desert goats that travel in herds.

Mwatis[]

Mwatis are goatlike creatures with large plated casques on their heads. Mwati wool and plate are prised for felting and insulation.

Kmiros[]

Gigantic scarabs that roam in swarms, looking for unfortunate travelers to feed on. They seem to be common prey for Rammus Rammus.

Outerbeasts[]

Beside the Xer'Sai, other creatures from the Void, referred to as 'outerbeasts', can be found in the desert.

  • Xer'Sai: Creatures from the Void that plague the southern deserts. They are the size of big dogs on average, but can be smaller or much bigger. Rek'Sai Rek'Sai, as the queen, is by far the largest and most dangerous of her species. Xer'sai burst from their small burrows and ravage anything nearby, to the detriment of desert caravans. Once dead, the Xer'sai decompose at an abnormally rapid rate and become inedible.

Ralsiji[]

Large and aggressive minotaur-like creatures. They are humpbacked quadrupeds with long limbs and thick horns.

Shuriman Camel[]

A breed of camels native to the deserts of Shurima and are used by caravans as well as common folk as primary mode of transportation. Despite being well-suited for lengthy travels in the desert landscape, they are still prey to a many predator such as the Xer'Sai.

Sandswimmers[]

Sandswimmers

Sandswimmers are massive quadrupedal creatures that traverse the Shuriman desert in cyclical patterns. They got their name due to their preferred method of travel. Their narrow bodies and webbed feet are perfectly design for swimming under the sand. They feed on bugs and other small creatures most desert beasts ignore. Scavengers will often memorize the predictable paths these creatures take, and jump onto their backs to ride as far as they wish.


Skallashi[]

The Skallashi are large quadrupedal herbivores. These hardy beasts of burden are common across Shurima, ideally suited to the harsh desert environment. Their key body feature is their long legs. Notoriously bad-tempered, they are nevertheless treated with great reverence. Their brown hides are often painted with sacred symbols of protection, and their horns hung with totems and charms. While these creatures are mostly used for travel and carrying heavy loads, on some larger skallashi people are able to built miniature rooms for more comfortable travel. To own one is often considered a sign of considerable prosperity.

Ki Barrier

Innate: After completing an ability's effects, Shen grants himself a shield for 47 − 120 (based on level) Champions killed with Comeuppance (R)(+ 13% bonus health) for 2.5 seconds. If Shen affects at least one other champion with an ability, Ki Barrier's  cooldown is reduced by 4 − 7.5 (based on level) seconds.

Shen manifests a Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade that he can control with Twilight Assault Twilight Assault and Spirit's Refuge Spirit's Refuge.

  • The Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade spawns with Shen, teleports closer to him if he gets too far away, and instantly blinks to him if he uses any global blink (Teleport Teleport, Recall Recall, or Stand United Stand United). It will also dissappear if Shen dies and reappear upon respawning.
  • Enemies see an arrow pointing from Shen to the location of his Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade even if it is not visible.
  • Twilight Assault Twilight Assault will grant the shield if the Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade reaches Shen. If it is stopped, no shield is granted. It will grant the cooldown reduction upon hitting an enemy champion.
  • Spirit's Refuge Spirit's Refuge will grant the shield and/or the cooldown reduction after the protective zone disappears. It does not need to block attacks to trigger the cooldown reduction, just touch an ally champion at any point of the duration.
  • Shadow Dash Shadow Dash will grant the shield when the dash ends. It will grant the cooldown reduction upon hitting an enemy champion.
    • If the dash is interrupted, the shield will instead be received the moment the crowd control source is applied, before damage calculation (if any).
  • Stand United Stand United will give the shield and/or the cooldown reduction upon completing the channel.

Active: Shen recalls his Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade to his location. Enemy champions hit are slowed for the next 2 seconds while moving away from Shen.

Once it arrives, Shen empowers his next 3 basic attacks within 8 seconds to gain  75 bonus range and deal Damage mitigated with Shifting Sands (E)bonus magic damage.

Bonus Magic Damage:
10 − 40 (based on level) Champions killed with Comeuppance (R)(+ 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4% Multiple champions hit with Between Worlds (R)(+ 1.5% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health)
Total Magic Damage:

If the Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade hit at least one enemy champion during the travel, the empowerment is enhanced to deal increased Damage mitigated with Shifting Sands (E)bonus magic damage and additionally grant Shen  Champions hit with Martial Cadence (P)50% bonus attack speed.

  • The Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade will stop in place upon colliding with Wind Wall Wind Wall or Unbreakable Unbreakable. If this occurs, Shen will not receive the empowered attacks.
  • When it is called, the Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade also checks for units which's gameplay radius it overlaps which (equal to a 0 radius check) before flying off, allowing it to hit enemies whose center is behind the missile origin.
  • The empowered attack will not trigger against structures nor wards.

Spirit's Refuge

Active: Shen primes his Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade, creating an area around it. After 2 seconds, or when Shen or an allied champion enters the area, the Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade generates a protective zone for 1.75 seconds, blocking all non- turret basic attacks that hit Shen or allied champions in the area.

Shadow Dash

Passive: Dealing damage with Twilight Assault Twilight Assault or Shadow Dash restores  Champions hit with Hookshot (E)30 / 40 / 50 (based on level) energy.

Active: Shen dashes to the target location, dealing Champions killed from outside standard Attack rangephysical damage to enemy champions and monsters he passes through and taunting them for 1.5 seconds.

Twilight Assault Twilight Assault and Spirit's Refuge Spirit's Refuge can be cast during the dash. Shadow Dash will cast at max range if cast beyond that.

  • Casting Flash Flash during Shadow Dash will end the dash prematurely, but the end-of-dash collision check will hit enemies at the blink's location still.
    • This still cannot affect the same enemy more than once.
  • The energy restore from Shadow Dash may only occur once.

Upon completing the channel, Shen and his Champions stunned with Pyromania (P)Spirit Blade blink to the target ally's location, placed between them and the nearest enemy champion. Shen also destroys any projectiles targeting him at the time of completion.

  • Due to several character stats needing to be recalculated each time a character spawns, casting Stand United immediately upon respawning will cause its cooldown to be unaffected by ability haste, and the shielding will not be increased by Shen's Damage to champions with Center of the Universe (P)ability power, but will be increased by his Champions killed with Comeuppance (R)bonus maximum health. (bug)
  • Stand United can target allies via the mini map or on their portraits or by using the F2 - F5 keys (none of this can be done if Shen is affected by nearsight or his target is untargetable).
  • Shen will turn to face towards his target ally at the start of the channel.
    • If the target is stealthed, enemies could, in theory, use this to estimate their location.
  • Shen will channel so long as his target is alive (even if the granted shield is broken). If his target dies, the channel is canceled and Stand United goes on full cooldown.
    • Interrupting Stand United's channel will not remove the shield prematurely.
  • The target's screen will glow purple to telegraph that Shen has targeted them with Stand United.
    • It will change back when the channel ends.
  • Shen finds the nearest visible enemy champion within 2000 range from the ally or the nearest invisible champion within 600 range to place himself 175 units from his ally towards that enemy.

    • Shen is written 慎 shèn [ʂə̃n˥˩] "caution" in Chinese localization.
    • Shen was the first champion to use energy as a resource for abilities.
    • Before the release of Pulsefire Shen Pulsefire Shen, neither him nor Zed Zed reveal their faces in any of their skins, unlike Akali Akali (All-star All-star, Nurse Nurse, Blood Moon Blood Moon) and Kennen Kennen (Karate Karate,M.D. M.D.). However, Shen has never revealed his full face in any skin.
    • Shen's dance references Tai chi 24-form.
      • A side-by-side comparison can be seen here.
    • Shen is the first dark-themed Ionian champion, before Varus Varus, Syndra Syndra, Zed Zed, Jhin Jhin, Xayah Xayah, & Kayn Kayn (Noxian-born).
    • Shen, Pantheon Pantheon, and Twisted Fate Twisted Fate were the first to have a global-range teleport ability.
      • After the other two's were heavily changed Shen remained the only one left with such an ability until Rek'Sai Rek'Sai was released.
        • Rek'Sai Rek'Sai would then later lose her global-range teleport capabilities as well.
    • Shen used to gain the 'Law of Inverse Ninja Strength' 'Law of Inverse Ninja Strength' cosmetic Easter egg debuff ("This unit is a flippin' ninja!" - "Ninjas are more effective when they work alone. For every Ninja on your team beyond yourself, you lose 1 health.") when he, Akali Akali, Kennen Kennen, and/or Zed Zed found themselves on the same team. It was removed in V3.14 for unknown reasons.
