Active:Shaco summons a box at the target location that becomes stealthed after arming over 2 seconds, lasting for up to 40 (+ 5% AP) seconds. The box is invulnerable and untargetable to enemies while stealthed.
The box will spring out upon enemy contact, fearing nearby enemies and reducing their movement speed for 2 seconds, modified against champions, who are also rooted for 0.5 seconds. Enemy champions have their movement speed set to a static 100, reduced to a static 60 for non-champions.
Champion Disable Duration:
0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5
The box will remain for 5 seconds, during which it will automatically fire at nearby visible enemies every 0.5 seconds, dealing magic damage with each attack that is increased against monsters and reduced by 50% against structures. If the box attacks only one target, it deals increased damage.
Backstab Bonus: The dagger deals an additional 15 − 50 (based on level)(+ 10% AP)bonus magic damage, increased to 22.5 − 75 (based on level)(+ 15% AP) when the target is below 30% of their maximum health.
Active:Shacovanishes for 0.5 seconds and blinks in the target direction while creating a clone of himself that is summoned in the opposite direction, remaining within control range of him as a controllable clone for up to 18 seconds.
Upon activation, the box springs into action, causing all enemies in range to flee from it, as well as attacking nearby enemies before expiring or upon being destroyed. Nearby enemy champions are also rooted briefly.
Hallucination explodes upon expiring or dying, dealing magic damage to all enemies around it and dropping three mini-boxes around itself which activate instantly, causing nearby enemies to flee from them for 1 second.
Crafted long ago as a plaything for a lonely prince, the enchanted marionette Shaco now delights in murder and mayhem. Corrupted by dark magic and the loss of his beloved charge, the once-kind puppet finds pleasure only in the misery of the poor souls he torments. He uses toys and simple tricks to deadly effect, finding the results of his bloody 'games' hilarious—and for those who hear a dark chuckle in the dead of night, the Demon Jester may have marked them as his next plaything.
A terrifying, evil nutcracker from an unknown time and place, Nutcracko's nightmarish appearance and dagger-hurling boxes of death are a curse on Snowdown festivities. He wishes to eliminate all Santas, ushering in a new age of stale fruitcake and creepy wooden toys.
A practitioner of masked dance drama, many of Shaco's performances begin as social commentary on the plight of the working class, and end with a random audience member being stabbed in the spine. It's a show worth seeing if you don't think about that last part.
Shaco was once a region of space known for raucous celebration, wiped clean by the Dark Star and reborn into the mocking visage of a jester. His twisted cackling reaches inhabited systems long before he does, provoking visions of destruction, and societal breakdowns that will soon feed his endless hunger.
Vile warlock and wanted criminal, Shaco is a dangerous creature whose mind was shattered during experimental soul duplication rituals. At some point he came into possession of a rare and powerful book of spells, amplifying the threat of his monstrous arcane sorcery.
Once a mere courier for the Twitch syndicate, Shaco is now barely human. The eldritch corruption has stripped him of reason and identity, turning him into a chittering horde of knife-wielding monsters that haunt the boroughs of Valoran City. None of them are sure which is the “real” Shaco anymore. None of them care.
New Effect:Shaco now appears 200 range in the direction of the cursor, facing the clone, rather than a random position 50-250 range in any direct around cast position, facing a random direction.
New Effect: The clone now appears 200 range in the opposite direction of the cursor, facing Shaco, rather than a random position 50-250 range in any direction around the cast position, facing a random direction.
Removed: Basic attacks dealing 20% bonus damage when hitting a unit from behind.
New Effect: Shaco's basic attacks critically strike for 120 − 145 (based on level)% AD when hitting a unit from behind (increased to 200% AD against monsters, stacks additively with bonus critical strike damage) Backstab cannot affect the same target for 3 seconds (affected by cooldown reduction) and applies Shaco's total critical strike damage if the enhanced attack is affected by his critical strike chance (goes on cooldown)
Cast time increased to 0.5 seconds from randomly between 0.25 and 0.5.
Clone's damage to turrets reduced to 35% from 50%.
New Effect: Clone takes 200% damage from turrets.
New Effect: Clone can attack wards.
New Effect: Clone spawns three mini-boxes upon expiring or being killed, lasting for up to 6 seconds as well as activating together and sharing damage taken. Mini-boxes deal 25 / 50 / 75 (+ 15% AP) magic damage, cause the target to flee for 0.75 seconds, and gain 210 - 950 (based on level) bonus health.
Shaco is one of a few champions to have multiple textures in one skin. When he uses Hallucinate, his clone will be of a different colour palette which can only be seen by Shaco and his allies. To the opposing team, the two Shacos look exactly the same, including copies of any external buffs and item effects active at the moment the clone is spawned (Prior to patch V5.22, clones did not duplicate external buff/active item effect particles).
It's possible that many aspects of Shaco's champion design, such as his appearance, his laugh and his "manic killer clown" persona were inspired by Kefka Palazzo from Final Fantasy VI.
The name Shaco is an anagram for the word 'chaos' (mentioned in the Journal of Justice - Issue 13: 10 Questions with Shaco), befitting his penchant for it.
There was a rework concept that turned Shaco into a projectile but hitting a Wind Wall in this form would remove him from the game.
Shaco's eye color is inconsistent. His eye color is light blue on his in-game model, on a player's background, in the Shop, on his splash art in Champion Select and in the overview section of the client but purple everywhere else.
