- Ryze was one of the original playable characters in the the Summoner's Rift Battle Training tutorial, along with Ashe and Garen.
- Ryze was the first champion to have 9 skins.
- He was also the first to have 2 Harrowing ones ( Zombie in 2010, Pirate in 2012).
- The other champion is Katarina ( Kitty Cat and Death Sworn). Hecarim has 2 Harrowing skins but his Reaper skin did not come in Harrowing event.

- In his splash art, Ryze is seen using Realm Warp to escape with a Yellow World Rune from a servant of the Watchers.
- Many players jokingly refer to the World Rune in the splash art as an ice cream cone.
- His very first splash art was directly tweaked for the first splash art of his Human (now called Young) skin.

Faker responded by saying that he would eat a head of broccoli if SKT T1 won the Season 5 Championship Grand Finals. He would follow through with this promise by eating a piece of broccoli on stage immediately after SKT T1's victory.
