The Resurgence of Civilizations is a historical time span in which most of the modern civilizations started emerging after the cataclysms and wars that preceded it. The most important civilizations that emerged during this time were Noxus Crest icon.png Noxus, Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia, Piltover Crest icon.png Piltover and Bilgewater Crest icon.png Bilgewater.

These snippets are from the Noxian Calendar from Realms of Runeterra. However, they may be incorrect or biased due to the Noxian point of view or the old age.
0 — Noxus Endures

The Rune Wars escalated across most of the known world. After a decade of almost apocalyptic battle, the last of the Noxii were forced to retreat inside the Immortal Bastion for shelter from the magical fallout. When they finally emerged, the land beyond had been ravaged, but they survived. They were alloyed as a single people, no longer Noxii but Noxus Crest icon.png Noxus, and have marked their calendar from this date ever since.

292 — The Demacian Crown

Far to the west, the nation founded by the great champion Orlon crowned its first king. Originally settled by refugees from the Rune Wars, it was declared that Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia would be a sanctuary from magic, now and forevermore.

349 — Noxus becomes an Imperial Power

After a series of forced annexations and the fall of the Drakkengate, the strength of Noxus grew to match its ambitions. The noble houses swore, though it might take a thousand years, to unify all the nations of Runeterra Crest icon.png Runeterra beneath a single banner, and elected a Grand General to lead their warhosts to victory.

772 — Tragedy on the River Pilt

Merchant clans controlling the trade routes between Valoran and Shurima accelerated constructions of vast accessways and conveyors - however, excavations for these "Sun Gates" undermined the ancient port of Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun, plunging whole portions of the city into the lightless caverns beneath.

787 — Bilgewater

With more and more bedraggled fortune seekers washing up on their shores, missionaries from the Buhru granted these paylangi outsiders refuge in the southern island bays. While there were many years of cultural confusion - even including the name of the Serpent Isles - this settlement would eventually gow into a bustling port city in its own right. [1]

Noxus Crest icon.png Noxus was founded, and within it, the Noxian capital: Noxus Prime, was built on top of the derelict Immortal Bastion. This event marks the beginning of the Noxian Calendar.

Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia was founded in western Valoran by the great champion Orlon. Poppy Poppy receives the Hammer of Orlon Hammer of Orlon on Orlon's deathbed.

Kayle Kayle and Morgana Morgana received their mother's Starfire Spellblade Starfire Spellblade and unlocked their innate celestial power; together, they protected Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia.

Kayle Kayle and Morgana Morgana flew to aid the people of Zeffira. While Kayle Kayle was busy dealing with the frontline attack, Morgana Morgana learned of a hidden wave of enemies attacking the city and left the frontlines to aid the citizens. Kayle Kayle lost trust in her sister for leaving her on the battlefield.

Warriors flocked to Kayle's Kayle's banner at Silvermere's Peak, where she founded a judicator order to enforce the law, and hunted down rebels and reavers with equal fervor. Kayle Kayle allowed Morgana Morgana to rehabilitate wrongdoers who appeared humble enough to admit their guilt. But gradually Kayle's Kayle's followers started to resent Morgana Morgana. Kayle's Kayle's protégé, Ronas, attempted to imprison Morgana Morgana for her actions, which resulted in his death.

Kayle Kayle, consumed by rage, looked down upon the city and summoned her divine fire to cleanse it of its sins. Morgana Morgana flew up to meet her, raising her blade to defend the innocent below. The battle raged on, ruining the city and killing numerous of its inhabitants, until it was abruptly halted by their father's anguished cry.

With the death of their father Kilam, both Kayle Kayle and Morgana Morgana left Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia. Kayle Kayle isolated herself near the slopes of Mount Targon, seeking perfect celestial clarity. Morgana Morgana remained at the outlying wilds of Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia where she rectifies wrongs as she sees fit on an interpersonal level as 'the Veiled One'.

The true identity of the twin sisters and their history was forgotten, and the Demacia Crest icon.png Kingdom of Demacia is established with the first Demacian royal family. Without knowing or fully understanding its origins, the Demacians take on the symbol of the Winged Sisters as their crest.

Noxus Crest icon.png Noxus starts to forcefully annex numerous territories alongside its eastern borders, one of which being The Drakkengate. The noble houses of Noxus swore to unify all the nations of Runeterra beneath a single banner. They established the Noxus Crest icon.png Empire of Noxus with its first Grand General to lead their warhosts to victory.

In order to utilize the military advantage of petricite abroad, the sculptor Durand was commissioned to build some manner of moving petricite shield. And so he constructed Galio Galio, a massive living petricite idol with wings, mirroring the image of the Winged Sisters. Galio Galio would later protect a platoon of Demacian soldiers during their hold against a skilled order of invading warmages, known as the Arcane Fist. After all the invading mages were defeated, Galio Galio returned to his pedestal and ceased to move. As the years would go by, the story of Galio Galio would eventually be seen as nothing more than a mere legend.

Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun finalizes its plans to destroy a portion of the isthmus connecting Valoran and the Southern Continent, allowing safe sea passage between eastern and western Valoran. The plan involved using thousand of chemtech bombs to create the passage, but the results were catastrophic; in what seemed to be an accident, the bombs triggered a series of earthquakes that completely destroyed the isthmus and sank large districts of Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun and thousands of its citizens, while also leaking poisonous gas in to the city's surviving areas. Janna Janna, empowered by the prayers of Zaun's people, arrived and blew away the gas, saving many lives and being eternally remembered by Zaun's denizens, converting her from a goddess of faith for sailors to a guardian deity for Zaun. She has yet to leave Zaun following this event.

Immigrants from Demacia Crest icon.png Demacia, Freljord Crest icon.png Freljord, and Ionia Crest icon.png Ionia settle on the Serpent Isles. With more and more bedraggled fortune seekers washing up on their shores, missionaries from the Harsh Lesson HD.png Buhru allow these outsiders to settle in the southern island bays. This settlement would eventually grow into the bustling port city of Bilgewater Crest icon.png Bilgewater. Fizz Fizz surfaces above the Guardian's Sea for the very first time and started living around Bilgewater Crest icon.png Bilgewater since then.

Eventually Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun was rebuilt. In order to regulate the oceanic passage they were built over, the Sun Gates were constructed, forcing all transport through the waters to be regulated by Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun. This brought immense wealth to the city and likely led to Piltover Crest icon.png Piltover's construction and elevation from Zaun Crest icon.png Zaun, as the merchant clans were in control of most of the money coming through this trade route.

Progress Day is celebrated as the anniversary of when the gates opened for the first time, allowing trade to pass easily between the east and west of Valoran. Construction of the Sun Gates led to great changes in eastern Valoran and the eastern seas, as Noxus Crest icon.png Noxus was from this point on able to more easily pool together resources from across its empire without needing land travel.
