The Resurgence of Civilizations is a historical time span in which most of the modern civilizations started emerging after the cataclysms and wars that preceded it. The most important civilizations that emerged during this time were Noxus, Demacia, Piltover and Bilgewater.

- 0 — Noxus Endures
The Rune Wars escalated across most of the known world. After a decade of almost apocalyptic battle, the last of the Noxii were forced to retreat inside the Immortal Bastion for shelter from the magical fallout. When they finally emerged, the land beyond had been ravaged, but they survived. They were alloyed as a single people, no longer Noxii but Noxus, and have marked their calendar from this date ever since.
- 292 — The Demacian Crown
Far to the west, the nation founded by the great champion Orlon crowned its first king. Originally settled by refugees from the Rune Wars, it was declared that Demacia would be a sanctuary from magic, now and forevermore.
- 349 — Noxus becomes an Imperial Power
After a series of forced annexations and the fall of the Drakkengate, the strength of Noxus grew to match its ambitions. The noble houses swore, though it might take a thousand years, to unify all the nations of Runeterra beneath a single banner, and elected a Grand General to lead their warhosts to victory.
- 772 — Tragedy on the River Pilt
Merchant clans controlling the trade routes between Valoran and Shurima accelerated constructions of vast accessways and conveyors - however, excavations for these "Sun Gates" undermined the ancient port of Zaun, plunging whole portions of the city into the lightless caverns beneath.

With more and more bedraggled fortune seekers washing up on their shores, missionaries from the Buhru granted these paylangi outsiders refuge in the southern island bays. While there were many years of cultural confusion - even including the name of the Serpent Isles - this settlement would eventually gow into a bustling port city in its own right. [1]

A few years after the end of the Rune Wars, remenants of the Noxi tribes that once dotted eastern Valoran founded Noxus, a new civilization centred around yet unbreachable fortress, the Immortal Bastion. This moment marked the inception of the Noxian Calendar.
To the western reaches of the continent, the legendary champion Orlon, together with and the rest of his caravan arrive in the newly formed Demacia. It was not long before Orlon and his band of warriors became beloved throughout the kingdom. He became a leading figure of the fledgling nation. A lifetime later, Orlon passed the to Poppy on his deathbed, and with it, his hope of an enduring kingdom. He explained to her that the hammer was meant to go to the Hero of Demacia - the only one who could keep Demacia whole. As her friend drew his last breath, Poppy swore to him that she would find this hero.
Meanwhile, the celestial powers of Kayle and Morgana awakened with the return of her mother’s Demacia from myriad threats, including and his followers. However, a rift grew between the sisters during the defense of their kingdom. While was busy dealing with the frontline attack, learned of a hidden wave of enemies attacking the city and left the frontlines to aid the citizens. Kayle lost trust in her sister for leaving her on the battlefield.
. United, they defended a youngWarriors flocked to Kayle's banner at Silvermere's Peak, where she founded a judicator order to enforce the law, and hunted down rebels and reavers with equal fervor. Kayle allowed Morgana to rehabilitate wrongdoers who appeared humble enough to admit their guilt. But gradually Kayle's followers started to resent Morgana. protégé, Ronas, attempted to imprison Morgana for her actions, which resulted in his death.
Kayle, consumed by rage, looked down upon the city and summoned her divine fire to cleanse it of its sins. Morgana flew up to meet her, raising her blade to defend the innocent below. The battle raged on, ruining the city and killing numerous of its inhabitants, until it was abruptly halted by their father's anguished cry. With the death of their father Kilam, both Kayle and Morgana left Demacia. isolated herself near the slopes of Mount Targon, seeking perfect celestial clarity. remained at the outlying wilds of Demacia where she rectifies wrongs as she sees fit on an interpersonal level as the Veiled One.
The true identity of the twin sisters and their history was forgotten, and the Kingdom of Demacia is established with the first Demacian royal family. Without knowing or fully understanding its origins, the Demacians take on the symbol of the Winged Sisters as their crest.
- 292 AN - 349 AN
The Noble Houses of Noxus declare and vow to unify all the nations of Runeterra beneath a single banner. They established the Empire of Noxus with its first Grand General to lead their warhosts to victory. The newly formed empire starts to forcefully annex numerous territories alongside its eastern borders, one of which being The Drakkengate. This bout of conquest would later be known as the Draken Campaign
On the other side of Valoran, Demacia starts looking for a way utilize the military advantage of Petricite abroad. The sculptor Durand was commissioned to build some manner of moving petricite shield. However, in a stroke of brilliance, he constructs , a massive living petricite idol with wings, mirroring the image of the Winged Sisters. When testing Galio’s pontential against a skilled order of invading warmages, known as the Arcane Fist, he would protect a platoon of Demacian soldiers during their hold. After all the invading mages were defeated, Galio returned to his pedestal and ceased to move. As the years would go by, the story of Galio would eventually be seen as nothing more than a mere legend.

The sourthern Shuriman people of Nazumah start dominating over the giant monsters they have been fighting against for years. They claim the oasis where Nazumah would later stand as their own and start building a society of monster hunters around it.
- 772 AN
Oshra Va'Zaun finalizes its plans to destroy a portion of the isthmus connecting Valoran and the Shuriman Continent, allowing safe sea passage between eastern and western Valoran. The plan involved using thousand of chemtech bombs to create the passage, but the results were catastrophic; in what seemed to be an accident, the bombs triggered a series of earthquakes that completely destroyed the isthmus and sank large districts of Oshra Va'Zaun and thousands of its citizens, while also leaking poisonous gas in to the city's surviving areas. Empowered by the prayers of the people of Oshra Va'Zaun, arrived and blew away the toxic gas, saving countless lives. This act transformed her from a goddess only revered by sailors to the guardian deity of Oshra Va'Zaun, forever remembered by its grateful denizens.

Immigrants from Demacia, Freljord, and Ionia settle on the Serpent Isles. With more and more bedraggled fortune seekers washing up on their shores, missionaries from the Buhru allow these outsiders to settle in the southern island bays. This settlement would eventually grow into the bustling port city of Bilgewater. surfaces above the Guardian's Sea for the very first time and started living around Bilgewater since then.

Over the better half of two decades, the partially destroyed city of Oshra Va'Zaun underwent extensive reconstruction.[citation needed] Central to its revitalization was the construction of the Sun Gates, which regulate the oceanic passage the city had sunk into, effectively forcing all maritime transport through the waters controlled by Oshra Va'Zaun.
This maritime control brought immense wealth to the city and spurred the development of a new district over the Pilt River. The merchant clans who dominated the trade route, desired to distinguish themselves from the lower classes. The new district was named Piltover, symbolizing its position over the Pilt River.
Progress Day commemorates the anniversary of the Sun Gates' inaugural opening, which facilitated seamless trade between the east and west of Valoran and Shurima. It also marks the celebration of establishment of Piltover. The construction of the Sun Gates brought significant changes to eastern Valoran and the surrounding seas. From this point onward, Noxus could efficiently consolidate resources from across its empire without relying solely on land routes.
