Ranked games are the competitive alternative to normal games. A ranked game is a game of the Draft Pick selection which is only available to summoners who have reached level 30 and purchased at least 20 champions in the Store.

Players entering into a ranked ladder are placed into provisional matches. The results of these placement matches are used to assign the summoner to a tier and division in the League system.

Solo/Duo Queue

SoloEmblem

A ranked ladder where players can compete alone, or with the help of another player. This exemplifies an environment that hones individual skill.

Flex Queue

TeamEmblem

A ranked ladder that enables any sized party in a team, except for parties of four.

This has no other difference from Solo Queue other than the end of season rewards.

Dynamic Queue (V6.1V6.22)

DynamicEmblem

In 2016[1], the ranked ladder was replaced to allow players to form parties of any size to queue, meaning that parties would be matched with solo players. This resulted in uneven skill matchups, long queue times due to role populace imbalance, and disruptive team collaboration. It also placed solo players at a heavy disadvantage in matchups and rewards, and didn't accurately reflect the individual's skill. Due to these problems, Dynamic Queue was removed, returning in its spiritual successor, Flex Queue.[2]
