• If the attack is a normal critical strike it will do 160% of the enemy's AD, instead of 200%. If the enemy also has Infinity Edge the damage will be 200% of the enemy's AD, instead of 250%, thus nullifying the bonus critical damage of Infinity Edge.
• Warden's Mail, Thornmail, Frozen Heart, and Randuin's Omen are the only items that can reduce attack speed. The attack speed slow on Warden's Mail, Thornmail and Randuin's Omen do not stack with each other, however they do stack multiplicatively with Frozen Heart for a combined 27.75% attack speed slow.
• Randuin's Omen's critical strike damage reduction does not apply to ability damage, even if the abilities use the critical strike damage symbol to indicate bonus damage (e.g. Karthus' Lay Waste hitting single targets, or Anivia's Frostbite right after the target is hit by a fully-formed Glacial Storm or Flash Frost).
• Champions who use the active of Randuin's Omen will have their channeling abilities canceled.

Strategy

• Randuin's Omen is a strong counter against auto-attackers that stack well on critical strikes like  Ashe, Graves, Yasuo and Tryndamere.

• Randuin's Omen bears the crest of Demacia's Lightshield Dynasty.
• Randuin's Omen is named after former Riot Games Inc. employee Robin 'Randuin' Liao.
• Randuin's Omen active effect's debuff is named Black Omen, possibly a reference to the floating palace bearing the same name from the game Chrono Trigger.
• Randuin's Omen is the only item that can reduce the amount of damage taken from critical strikes.
