Powers are modifiers found in The Path of Champions that take effect during a game, granting benefits or difficulties to the player or even changing how a the game plays out completely.
Powers are one-time or reoccurring effects that shape the game in a particular way, giving advantages or disadvantages to both the player and the Foe. There is no limit to the number of powers the player can have in an adventure. The powers a player has can be viewed during the adventure before a game or in the game itself by clicking on the button in the top left corner, where both the Foe's and the player's powers during that game will be shown.
How to gain a power[]
There are three ways to gain powers in The Path of Champions:
Star Power[]
When a champion is first unlocked, players have the ability to spend fragments to increase the champion's star level, giving them an additionnal starting power or upgrading an already owned one. Players can check and purchase a champion's star power through their Constellation tab. These powers are permanent for all adventures after their purchase and is very rare to be able to remove them throughout the adventure itself.
Champion Level[]
When players reach level 20 with a champion, they unlock

As players progress through World Adventures and Champion Campaigns, players can earn temporary powers that only last during that adventure. Upon game over or complete an adventure, those temporary powers will be lost.
- Through power encounters. These appear always on the second node of an adventure, after a boss battle and after a .
- Through shop locations. Players can use some of their gold to buy up to one power per shop location, if they are at or over Legend Level 13.
- Through encounter events.
Champion Level impacts the drop rate of powers based on Rarity.
Legend Level doesn't provide the player with powers. However, if player doesn't have high enough levels, some content may get locked.
Power Types[]
Powers can be separated into different categories depending on the way they are obtained and how likely they are to appear.
General Powers[]
These powers are obtainable during an adventure through regular power encounters, shops and most special events and can be used by any champion.

Early Loss Powers[]
If a player loses or retired the previous run of that adventure with the same champion before defeating at least one enemy, they will be only be offered a selection of random common powers at the start of the adventure. This selection can be rerolled.
Encounter Powers[]
These powers are obtainable through specific special encounters or events during an adventure, some of them being only obtainable this way.
