- Neeko is voiced by Flora Paulita in both the English and Portuguese voiceovers of League of Legends[1], Legends of Runeterra[2] and the Remix Rumble Set Introduction video[3]. As a result, Neeko's accent is influenced by Brazilian Portuguese phonology and grammar.
- Neeko was intended to be a champion that doesn't have a good understanding of the common language because Riot was trying to achieve a "fish out of water" feeling.[4]
- Ćyanga Bold provided the vocals for Neeko's theme.[5]
- Neeko has a lot of inspired by Brazil influence, whether it's because of her accent, her speech in Portuguese or her favorite food. .[1] [6]
- The gameplay hook during development was a shapeshifter who could mimic other champions. However, the prototype design goal was to create a bot lane carry mage.[7][8]
- One of Neeko's scrapped spells included a high-range trap nest that would have a substantial arm time but would deal a lot of damage.[9]
- Inspirations for Neeko include Leeloo from The Fifth Element movie, Starfire from DC Comics, Mantis & X-23 from Marvel Comics, Eleven from Stranger Things serie, and Stitch from Lilo & Stitch franchise.[9]
- Some of the directions that could have been taken with Neeko included a muse character made of paint who escaped from a painting, and an avant-garde oracle.[10]

- Neeko is a few hundred years old, but her maturity is at the level of someone in their late teens or early twenties.[11]
- She may be about 180 years old.[12]
- Neeko is NOT a Vastayashai'rei.
- Neeko is not a pure Vastayashaiārei, but she is closer to it than most of the other vastaya. The Oovi-Kat tribe splintered off from the vastaya tribes very early and have largely lived in isolation, so their magic is more pure and ancient than other vastaya. There is very, very little human blood in Neekoās lineage.[13]
- It is revealed that Neeko being a Vastayashai'rei was a mistake in the script.[14]
- The Oovi-Kat looked at the shedding tails as milestones in maturity, like birthdays. This does not occur annually, but is linked to growth in the spiritual realm.[15] Neeko is currently on her fourth tail.
- The flowers on her head are actually beautiful glands, like the pineal gland, which allow Neeko to sense and interact with people's Sho'Ma.[16]
- Her favorite food is cheese bread.[9]
- This is a reference to pĆ£o de queijo, Brazilian cheese bread, because her voice actress is Brazilian.
- [17][18] Neeko's size when shape shifting is only limited by the immensity of her shoma. She could become an exact replica of but wouldn't be able to hold it for long.[19] is better, faster at shapeshifting than other Vastaya types thanks to her more powerful connection to magic and being attracted to an animal spirit that is good at changing. Neeko could change her appearance dramatically in 2 seconds and hold it for several days.
- Neeko has lines showing romantic interest in female champions and was confirmed by her writer, Matt "FauxSchizzle" Dunn, to be the first known lesbian champion.[20]
