  • Hey, I was looking at a few custom champions and i remembered the CCC's from days past, so i went looking what happened to that. Well, i obviously ended up here, but it is not clear what the status of CB2 is right now. In GutsyTick's sanbox it looks reasonably fleshed out, but i'm not sure if it's even ongoing, or if it is, when it started, because the sandbox doesn't have a 'last edit' date (i think).

    I'm interested in making custom champions and i felt like participating, so i'd like to ask if you could shed some light on CB2 as it is now?

    • Oh well, CB2 has, in short, died.

      While I have to admit that I don't entirely recall the process of how it happened, I think it had to do with Grrbear, the original creator of the CB, leaving the wikia for an undetermined timeframe, leaving GutsyTick and I to deal with it.

      Due to some communication-errors we ended up in a somewhat bad spot where neither of us really wanted to work with eachother anymore, and when we finally set up to bring CB2 out after a long private discussion, GutsyTick disappeared.

      Due to his end-year-exams coming up he decided to cut off any and all ties with the wikia or League of Legends in general, leaving me to deal with CB2 on my own.

      I got buried under a lot of personal stress due to family sickness and exams myself, and to be honest started to forget about CB2.

      I'm at the moment not especially motivated to kickstart CB2 again, but if you want to host the CB2 yourself or join in as a secondary judge you are always more than welcome.

      I'm also interested in hearing what kind of Custom Champions you're planning to create? As you can see I've made my fair share of bad and worse concepts and I'd be very interesting in seeing your ideas :D

    • Ah it's too bad that CB2 has died.

      I'm not too convinced that i'm motivated enough to host it myself actually, but i'd love to help, it's a beautiful thing of the community to hold these sorts of contests. So if you feel like giving it another chance, i'd happily join in as secondary judge, but if not, well, perhaps someone will look at this a year from now and make his/her own custom champion contest.

      As far as custom champions go for me, i'm sadly not exactly brimming with ideas, which was the main reason that i went looking for CCC/CB in the first place, because i can make a champion if i have something to work with. That said, i have 4 custom champions on my blog atm. 2 of those are a friend's that i posted because i thought it could get better feedback that way, but as GreenMoriyama explained in the comments on one of them, i didn't really go about it right. Of the other two, one is me trying to get a different game turned into league concepts which, honestly, failed rather spectacularly. I still have to rework that one, just have to find the motivation for it XD. Then there's the only one i'm actually proud of, and which is actually (afaik) a unique concept.

      If i remember correctly, i also have a concept for shunting Mario into League written down somewhere, as a sort of stance-changing champion. For that matter, the theme of the currently dead CB2 did give me some ideas, but i wanted to wait on working out a champion until CB2 started. As it is likely not going to, i might as well brainstorm some more on it :P.

    As you probably know, Grrrbear, as of now, is currently occupied with a very hefty schedule, and is thus unable to host the next CB. By my understanding you are the next official primary judge of the CBs, and are to choose a challenge in which the contesting concepts are to meet.

    Now by no means was this message sent with the intentions of either forcing you into doing things in which you aren't comfortable with or don't have time for, but I do believe that it would be nice of you to respond to this message with your plans for CB 2, and when/how it will be employed, so that I may be able to take further actions according to your motives.

    If it is your wish to delay the beginning of CB2 for a while longer, or even put the whole CB2 business on hiatus, don't feel bad about stating it, as you are the next primary judge; I shan't disregard your plans and will respect them.

      Good thing the essentials were sorted long ago, this didn't take long to come up with. I still require you to come up with a secondary challenge though, if possible. If not, I can come up with one so do not fret.

      After that, we should be all set to go.

      Sorry for not responding to your message earlier but school caught up to me for a short time. And about the secondary challenge, I got the idea for it to also have separate effects based off of what kind of minion/monster you hit e.g. Melee-class minion, Ranged-attack minions, cannon minions, Buff-wielding monsters etc.

      I'll continue working on some things by the side, as soon as you approve of this I'll upload it to your sandbox :)

  • I am going to be increadibly indisposed over the next few months. Like... crazy busy... I probably can't host the next CB (Which would be annoying anyway seeing as how the mod who creates the contest should be able to say who is accepted and what not.)

    To get to the point, I think you, and GutsyTick should be the ones to create the next CB. I don't have any athority over the contest as I am no longer a judge. While will (and have) gladly give feedback on rules and judging, I probably can't help with moderation. As you are the one who will be deciding the next challenge it makes sense for you to host the next CB post. Talk to GutsyTick on his message wall if you don't want to do this.


    A few things I am in favor of before I go.

    1. Lets try to make it the featured blog, or get it its own place on the front page (Neart he bottom or close to the Custom champion section.)

    2. Have the position of Host for each CB in the future be passed down as we go. (We should create a template for future users)

    3. Have all content on a singular blog post that we edit and add things into.


    Side note: If niether of you want to do this, I still can I will just be very... Unrelyable as I will be jugling a full time and part time job for the next few months, in addition to college starting soon after.

  • I'm terribly sorry to say this but I didn't comment on your Mundomundo rework because I have almost absolutely no idea about top laning and his problem.

    Anyway, seems like your rework page is locked from comment. You should check a small checkbox ('Allow comment' or something) in Edit Mode.
