Void Shift
Void Shift.png

Innate: Malzahar receives Void Shift if he hasn't taken non-Minion icon.png minion damage nor been affected by Stun icon.png crowd control in the last 30 / 24 / 18 / 12 (based on level) seconds.

Void Shift phases out Malzahar, making him Cc-immune icon.png immune to crowd control and causing him to take 90% Damage reduction icon.png reduced damage, lingering for 0.25 seconds after taking damage or blocking a Stun icon.png crowd control effect.

  • Void Shift will not resist allied Stun icon.png crowd control nor will it be deactivated by them.
  • Malzahar receives Void Shift upon respawning.
  • Void Shift will not mitigate Hybrid penetration.png true damage but the buff will still be consumed.
  • Hybrid resistances icon.png Shields will take priority over Void Shift, but the buff will still be consumed (does not reduce damage inflicted). Void Shift triggers even if the shield negated the damage entirely.
    • However, if Malzahar has a Spell Shield.png spell shield and the Hybrid resistances icon.png shield fully mitigates the damage, Void Shift does not trigger.* The damage taken must be from an effect that cannot be negated by spell shields.
  • Spell Shield.png Spell shields take priority over Void Shift. If the triggering hostile ability does not contain a Stun icon.png crowd control effect, both Void Shift and the spell shield break simultaneously.
    • Since spell shields are precedent over Void Shift, applied Stun icon.png crowd control from effects that cannot be blocked by spell shields (i.e. Wall of Pain Wall of Pain) will also ignore Void Shift despite its Cc-immune icon.png crowd control immunity. The effect must not damage Malzahar for this event to take place.
  • Void Shift will specifically not deactivate if Malzahar eats Honeyfruit Honeyfruit or is within a hostile Frozen Heart Frozen Heart passive aura.

Call of the Void

Active: Malzahar opens two portals that are each 200 units perpendicular from the target location, granting a small area of Sight icon.png sight around them. After a 0.4-second delay, all enemies between the portals take magic damage and are Silence icon.png silenced for a duration.

Void Swarm

Passive: Malzahar gains a stack of Zz'Rot Swarm when he casts another ability, up to a maximum of 2.

Active: Malzahar consumes all Zz'Rot Swarm stacks and, after a 0.5-second delay, summons a Voidling Voidling at the target location. Additional Voidlings are then summoned for each Zz'Rot Swarm stack consumed.

Voidling Duration:
8 / 8 / 9 / 9 / 10

Voidlings deal magic damage with their attacks. Voidlings deal 50% damage to epic monsters, and 300% damage against enemy Minion icon.png minions affected by Malefic Visions Malefic Visions.

Magic Damage:
5 − 64.5 (based on level) (+ 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20) (+ 40% bonus AD) (+ 20% AP)

  • Malzahar loses all stacks upon death.
  • Zz'Rot Swarm stacks are gained per cast and not per ability activation. For example, if Malefic Visions Malefic Visions is cast and the ability cancels under certain circumstances, a Zz'Rot Swarm stack will still be granted despite the ability's failure to complete.

Active: Malzahar infects the target enemy's mind, dealing them magic damage every half second over 4 seconds. Damaging a target with Call of the Void Call of the Void or Nether Grasp Nether Grasp will refresh the duration of Malefic Visions.

Total Magic Damage:
80 / 115 / 150 / 185 / 220 (+ 80% AP)
Magic Damage Per Half Second:
10 / 14.375 / 18.75 / 23.125 / 27.5 (+ 10% AP)

If the target dies during this time, they pass Malefic Visions onto the closest enemy, refreshing the duration and restoring Mana icon.png 2% of Malzahar's maximum mana.

  • If the target becomes Playful.png untargetable, dies, or Malzahar loses Sight icon.png sight of them during the cast time, Malefic Vision cancels but its Cooldown reduction icon.png cooldown and Mana icon.png mana are refunded.

Nether Grasp
COST: 100 Mana

Active: Malzahar forms a Focused Resolve.png tether between him and the target enemy Champion icon.png champion, Knockdown icon.png knocking them down. Malzahar then Channeling icon.png channels for 2.5 seconds, Suppression icon.png suppressing and True Sight icon.png revealing the target and dealing them magic damage every 0.25 seconds.

125 / 200 / 275 (+ 80% AP)
Damage Per Quarter-Second:
12.5 / 20 / 27.5 (+ 8% AP)

Malzahar will continue to channel so long as the tether is not broken, even if the suppression is removed.

Null Zone.png

A Null Zone is opened beneath the target's location at the time of cast that lasts 5 seconds, dealing magic damage every 0.5 seconds to all enemies within.

Total Magic Damage:
10 / 15 / 20% (+ 2.5% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health
Damage Per Half-Second:
1 / 1.5 / 2% (+ 0.25% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health

Null Zone will persist even if the ability is interrupted.

Type Channel
Attacking Disabled if attacking Nether Grasp target. Otherwise interrupts after 0.5 seconds of channeling.
