Magic damage is one of the three types of damage in League of Legends. Magic damage is dealt by a portion of all damaging spells from champions, items, runes, and buffs.

Statistics influencing magic damage

Magic damage spells commonly scale off of Health icon health and/or the offensive statistics Attack damage icon attack damage and Ability power icon ability power, but other scalings may also be used.

Magic resistance icon Magic resistance mitigates received magic damage by a percentage. The effectiveness of Magic resistance icon magic resistance can be reduced by Magic penetration icon magic penetration.
