Thorn is from Minnesota, but studied vocal performance at Simpson College before moving back to earn a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She applied to Riot on a whim when she moved to California with her friends.
As an Art Lead, Thorn works with many artists to find creative ways to promote Riot's content. She has directed a lot of their website experiences, and uses techniques such as mood boards, style guides, and deep dives into unexpected inspirations.[2]
