The wiki writes patch notes differently from the source page, chiefly with a larger focus on the changes themselves. To maintain consistency, a style has been adopted.

Formatting[]

The following summarizes the formatting that should be followed on ALL the Patch Note pages for uniformity.

Applies to all sections formatting:

Punctuation
  • Each change note is to be finished with a period at the end of the line.
Term style
  • When writing a section about a term/object such as a champion, spell, map, feature, etc., prefix the term with a semicolon ; to mark it as a term.
Bullet style
  • When a bulleted style is used: always use one space following each * symbol before the text flow.
    • Correct: * {{ai|ability|champion}}.
    • Wrong: *{{ai|ability|champion}}.
  • Each bullet entry after the * symbol should be capitalized.
    • Correct: * Symbol....
    • Wrong: * symbol....
Number
  • Any decimal fraction less than one (1.0) is always preceded by a leading zero (0), and additionally, all decimal fractions should be formatted using the {{fd|decimal}} template.
    • Correct: {{fd|0.5}}, {{fd|1.5}}.
    • Wrong: .5, 0.5, 1.5.
  • Any changes involving percentages should place the % sign directly after the adjusted numbers.
    • Correct: Slow reduced to 5% from 12%.
    • Wrong: Slow % reduced to 5 from 12.
  • Any changes to or from either static or dynamic values should use the phrase "at all ranks" directly after the static value.
    • Correct: Cooldown changed to 5 seconds at all ranks from 5/6/7/8/9.
    • Wrong: Cooldown changed to 5/6/7/8/9 seconds from 5.
  • Any changes that adjust to different values will be written in a to-from transition.
    • Correct: Cooldown changed to 5/6/7/8/9 seconds from 5 at all ranks.
    • Wrong: Cooldown changed from 5 at all ranks to 5/6/7/8/9 seconds.
