- Her theme was written by Riot EdTheConqueror.[2]
- Kayle and [3] were made the children of the Aspect of Justice instead of the Aspect(s) of Justice because Riot wanted to explore what the children of an Aspect may look like.
- Riot moved away from the narrative of Kayle and Morgana stemming from a race of angels due to angels having certain cultural connotations that would be harder to expand upon as Riot moves the narrative setting forward.[4]
- The gameplay hook set for Kayle was her evolving into a carry throughout the game, mirroring her previous play pattern.[5]
- Scrapped spell tested on Kayle include:[6]
- An iteration of passive that would grant her true flight when ascending and would allow her to fly outside the map.
- A version of her E where she could dash and gain a lot of attack speed.
- A version of her ultimate where she would fly into the sky and become untargetable and hurl a meteor at enemies.
- The gameplay elements Riot wanted to preserve on Kayle were melee and range difference, her role as a late game hyper carry and the utility of her support elements.[7]
- The reason why Kayle was updated with lighter armor was that Riot wanted to her to be read as a fragile target.[8]
- originally possessed a robotic voice filter as the idea was that the suit was slowly taking over Kayle. The filter was later removed in V9.6 since it doesn't really come off well in her model and splash.[9]

- Kayle's name is the modernized, more-revised version of her father, Kilam.
- Both Kilam and Kayle might come from Classical Latin caelum [ˈkae̯.ɫũ] "sky, heaven, whole", from PIE noun *keh₂ilom.[10]
- Typically, caelum yields gens' name Caelia [ˈkae̯.ɫi.a] and then given name Celia.
- Her parents were from one of the tribes on Mount Targon, an earlier version of the Rakkor.[11]
- Kayle and [12] are fraternal twins.
- She was born over 1000 years ago at the height of the Rune War. How much time she has experienced in the celestial realm is unknown.
- Kayle and ascended but are technically not hosts of the Aspect of Justice, being, in fact, Demi-Goddeses. - Kayle's view of justice is idealistic eye for an eye based around law, she believes that every crime deserves punishment proportionate to its scale and that you are redeemed after you have been punished.[22]
- Kayle would believe Demacians have twisted a lot of the original ideals that made them great, and taken them to an extreme. She would also take issue with Demacia's recent lawlessness and chaos with [23] escape.
- Kayle's [22] form is her current appearance over the last 100 years as she strives to be as close to her mother, the former Aspect of Justice, as possible.
- Kayle suppresses the feelings of her mistakes because she fears that she was wrong and is becoming a monster.[22] But with time spent on Targon, she seems to accept her emotions and human part.
- Kayle's worst flaw is her self righteousness and ability to blind herself to her own flaws and mistakes. Her best quality is her idealistic desire to do good in the world and protect innocents.[24]
- Kayle's favourite food is kale.[25]
- In modern times, Kayle's name has been long forgotten and she is known as The Protector within Demacia's mythos.
- Most Demacians are unaware that there were two Winged Protectors and believe that Kayle was the sole protector.

- Kayle's right hand appears to be more dominant (unlike her who appears to be left handed) as she holds her sword by her right hand, as opposed to whose left hand appears to be more dominant. This likely references the fact that historically right-handedness is associated with beneficence, goodness, light and righteousness, while left-handedness is associated with malevolence, wickedness, darkness and sinfulness.
