Ironbacks are tanky, melee brawlers. They can take reduced damage from minions and gain a shield that blocks attacks as they're upgraded. They can also deal extra damage to structures. All Ironbacks take reduced damage from enemy turrets.
As with all brawlers, they cost 5 to purchase and can be upgraded with further krakens (see below).
Ironbacks are squat bipedal creatures that resemble turtles or tortoises. Though not as tall as a human adult, they are far wider and more heavily-built. When domesticated and used for combat, they act as siege engines. Their stout strength can tear down whole structures with ease; and when outfitted with armor to complement their thick hide, they can endure the most grievous assaults.
Ironbacks will spawn in place of one of your team's Melee minions, one on each lane per Ironback hired. Once out of Melee Minions, Ironbacks will begin replacing Caster minions.
Unique Passive: The Ironback is protected by a barrier that mitigates 100% of the physical damage from the next turret attack or basic attack from an enemy champion. This cannot happen again for 10 seconds.
