Guardian (Legends of Runeterra)

Guardians are cosmetics in Legends of Runeterra that appear on the board, except lab matches. During a match, the player has a guardian displayed on the bottom right of the screen, and the opponent's in the top right, in the Guardian's nest, where the creature reacts to the events of the match and can interact with the player. Guardians can be purchased from the Collection or Store tabs, and owned ones can be viewed in the Collection tab.

Most Guardians are inspired by creatures that appear in the Runeterra Prime universe while others a creatures from the wider League of Legends intellectual property.

Default Guardians

Default Guardians are those given to the players automatically in game, no event or store purchase required.

Event Guardians

Event Guardians are obtained or purchased during certain events and are generally not available after the events pass.

- Baley is called "Baby Baley".
- Gloomtooth is called "Shark".
- Kitt is called "Spirit Fox".
- Scaled Snapper is just called "Snapper".
- Sharpsteel Silverwing is called "Samurai Silverwing".
- Spirit Blossom Silverwing is called "Sakura Silverwing".
Each Guardian is inspired by an existing Legends of Runeterra card(s), or general creatures from the League of Legends universe and intellectual property:
- Baley by the Balestriders, such as 10 She Who Wanders,
- Poro from numerous Poro cards such as the 1 Jubilant Poro card.
- Gromp Jr. by Gromp and is the infant version of the fauna from Summoner's Rift of League of Legends.
- Scaled Snapper by the Template:Card cards and is the infant version of the fauna.
- T-Hex by the 8 T-Hex card and is an infant-like version of the golem.
- Basilisk by the 4 Basilisk Rider card and is the infant version of the fauna.
- Silverwing by the numerous Silverwing cards such as the 4 Silverwing Vanguard card and is the infant version of the fauna.
- Gloomtooth by the 2 Shark Chariot card and is an infant-like version of the spirit.
- Minion by Red Caster Minion and is the smaller cuter version of the troop from Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss of League of Legends.
- Von Yipp by the 4 Professor von Yipp cards such as 5 Accelerated Purrsuit, 1 Catastrophe, 5 Purrsuit of Perfection, 5 Subpurrsible.
- Kitt and Festival Kitt by Spirit Blossom Ahri.
Moonstruck Poro was only given to players who pre-registered for the mobile version of Legends of Runeterra.
