Garen loses Perseverance for 8 seconds if he takes damage from epic Monster icon.png monsters, enemy Turret icon.png turrets, or enemy Champion icon.png champions, or if he is hit by an enemy ability or affected by an enemy summoner spell, refreshing on subsequent damage or hits to Garen from them.

  • Perseverance does not go on nor refresh its cooldown from damage which was fully prevented by a Hybrid resistances icon.png shield or Cosmic Radiance.png invulnerability.

Decisive Strike

Active: Garen Remove Scurvy.png cleanses himself of all Slow icon.png slows and gains Movement speed icon.png 30% bonus movement speed for a few seconds.

Additionally, Garen's next basic attack within 4.5 seconds becomes Excessive Force 2.png unstoppable, Bear Stance.png lunges at his target, deals bonus physical damage, and Silence icon.png silences the target for 1.5 seconds.

Bonus Physical Damage:
30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+ 50% AD)

Decisive Strike Bladework.png resets Garen's basic attack timer.

  • The enhanced attack will apply other on-hit effects and can Critical strike icon.png critically strike as normal (the bonus damage does not).
    • The bonus damage will also apply Life steal icon.png life steal.
    • The bonus damage is applied to structures.
  • Decisive Strike locks Garen out of using basic attacks for a short period of time. This is shortened with Attack speed icon.png attack speed.
  • The enhanced attack will still complete and hit the target even if they become Playful.png untargetable during the attack's windup.
  • Decisive Strike will only Remove Scurvy.png cleanse Slow icon.png slows and no other status effects (e.g. the damage reduction from Exhaust Exhaust will not be removed).
    • The only exception is if the Slow icon.png slow debuff has a Cripple icon.png cripple effect applied by the same debuff, which will also be removed together with the slow effect; e.g. Nasus' Nasus' Wither Wither.
  • Decisive Strike will not prevent the reapplication of Slow icon.png slows (e.g. the persistent slow from Pillar of Ice Pillar of Ice will be immediately reapplied after removal if Garen is still within its area of effect).
  • Spell Shield.png Spell shield will only negate the Silence icon.png silence.
  • Decisive Strike's Bear Stance.png lunge can pass very thin terrain and will otherwise not be able to. In any case, Garen will still hit his target.

Passive: Garen permanently gains Armor icon.png 0.25 bonus armor and Magic resistance icon.png 0.25 bonus magic resistance every time he kills an enemy, up to a maximum of 30 bonus resistances at 120 unit kills.

After reaching maximum stacks, Garen gains 10% bonus armor and 10% bonus magic resistance.

Active: Garen Damage reduction icon.png reduces incoming damage by 30% for a few seconds. For the first 0.75 seconds, Garen additionally gains a Hybrid resistances icon.png shield and 60% Tenacity icon.png Tenacity.

  • Bonus resistances on-kill changed to 0.5. Number of enemy kills needed to reach the maximum amount changed to 60.


Active: Garen becomes Ghost.png ghosted and rapidly spins his sword around his body 7 times over 3 seconds, losing the ability to basic attack but gaining an aura that deals physical damage to nearby enemies periodically. The number of spins is increased by 1 for every 25% bonus attack speed from item stats and growth (per level). Enemy champions hit 6 times have their Armor penetration icon.png armor reduced by 25% for 6 seconds. The 7th hit and every 6th hit thereafter refreshes the duration of the reduction. After 1 second, Judgment can be recast.

Recast: Garen ends Judgment early, reducing its Cooldown reduction icon.png cooldown by its remaining duration.

Judgment can Critical strike icon.png critically strike for (33% + 35% 35%) bonus physical damage. Additionally, the total damage is increased by 50% against non-epic Monster icon.png monsters.

  • The initial casts count as an ability activation for the purposes of on-cast effects such as Spellblade and stacking Force Pulse Force Pulse.
    • Deactivating the ability manually does not.
  • Judgment only benefits from the bonus attack speed gained from items through the stats they provide, and not any of their additional effects (such as by passives or item actives).
  • Each spin triggers a stack of Conqueror Conqueror.
  • For the purpose of moving closer to an enemy when right clicking them, Judgment also reduces Garen's attack range to 100 for the duration.
  • Judgment cancels Garen's last movement command upon ending.
  • Each spin deals damage simultaneously to all enemies within its range when the spin is completed.
  • The spin animation is capped at once per 0.2 seconds, but the amount of ticks will keep on scaling.
  • The armor reduction stacks multiplicatively with other percentage armor penetration effects.
