The Catapult, or Champion Cannon, is a structure first introduced in Nexus Blitz, and later implemented in Ultra Rapid Fire. Players can click the cannon to launch themselves across the map.
Gameplay[]
Jumping inside the cannon renders the unit vanished, and staying in for more than 10 seconds forces them out. Units have a larger field of view of the map and can launch themselves with displacement immunity to a target location of their choice, there is a maximum range however.
Unlike other catapults, the four catapults in Nexus Blitz are neutral, appear in the jungle, have fixed landing locations, and render the champion untargetable while they're being launched, although entering the cannon will not destroy any in-flight projectiles.
A circular indicator visible to all units will be placed on that specific location. Upon impact, all enemies within the area take 120 − 460 (based on level) magic damage and are knocked up.
Nexus Blitz[]
Catapult is one of the random rewards in the mode.
In first and second iteration of the mode, the reward catapult appears near the winner base.
In the third iteration:
- In addition to the reward catapult, two catapults can be found on each side of jungle at the beginning of the game. One near the jungle guardian, another below the bottom lane. These are accessible for both sides of the game, and the landing location is fixed for each catapult. This particular catapult also renders the unit untargetable while they are being launched, although in-flight projectiles will not be destroyed.
- Base catapult is given to both teams when the Sudden Death: Nexus Blitz event, occurs at 18 minutes.
Ultra Rapid Fire[]
The catapult is later used in URF modes, placing near the player bases from the beginning of the match. It is the alternate of the same patch.
