Dragon is a subtype for a number of units. Dragon units enjoy considerable support, and are generally characterized by being higher-cost and relatively powerful, as well as mostly sharing the 
Fury keyword.
The Dragons are thematically associated with both Celestial and Terrestrial Dragons.
Strategy and champions[]
Aurelion Sol[]
One way to build a dedicated Dragon deck is a 
Targon / 
Demacia deck using 
10Aurelion Sol and the various 
strike cards that Demacia offers.
2 Herald of Dragons lowers the cost of Dragons.- 3 Dragon's Clutch is a versatile card that can draw or buff Dragons.
- 6 Inviolus Vox is an important card that generates more Dragons whenever Dragons (with Fury) kill something.
- 10Aurelion Sol and especially 15 The Skies Descend can finish games by wiping the enemy board.
- 12 Age of Dragons can add up to five zero-cost Dragons to your hand, which can be extremely valuable as Dragon cards tend to be powerful.
Elder Dragon[]
Not necessarily mutually exclusive with Aurelion Sol, it is also popular to build Dragon decks with 12Elder Dragon. Its Origin allows for any followers with base cost 6+ to be placed into the player's deck; this includes the vast majority of Dragon followers, and their powerful stats and effects are further enhanced by the Elder Dragon's Dragon Boons. Dragon-centric Elder Dragon decks will also often feature Demacia, which has access to a number of other Dragon support cards such as 2 Dragonguard Lieutenant and 2 Dragon Allegiant.
However, even non-Demacia Elder Dragon decks may include Dragons due to their considerable strength, especially when bolstered by the Dragon Boons. Especially with some of the Dragons being useful in a variety of general decks, such as 6 Cloud Drake and 6 Enraged Firespitter.
Shyvana[]
4Shyvana, as a Demacian unit, can be included with either or both of the other Dragon champions. When leveled, she has the ability to readily produce 
3 Strafing Strike cards which have added benefits when played on Dragons.

- 9 The Great Beyond was the first card to belong to two different subtypes. At first, it was a Celestial with the text "I am a Dragon", until cards could show multiple types.
