Death Recap is the damage recap feature that appears when a champion dies in League of Legends.
Gameplay
Minimized Form
In its minimized form, the number in the center of the pie chart on the left shows the total damage your champion taken since the last time you enter combat.
The pie chart, as well as the damage type, shows the percentage of damage you taken, with:
- Red for physical damage.
- Blue for magic damage.
- White for true damage.
The minimized form also presents the combat length, as well as the time spent while affected by crowd control during combat.
Extended Part
Clicking "Click to expand" reviews addition information. These informations include the value of each damage value. Below that is a list of up-to-5 units have dealt damage to you, sorted by the total of damage deals to you.
For each unit, player can view the damage contributions of basic attacks, as well as abilities. The damage taken from all items and all runes is summed up and shown as a single number per unit. Again, damage are represent by colors, to differentiate each type of damage.
In champion cases, player can view their KDA as well as the executioner (who gained the biggest reward).
Trivia
- Prior to V9.14, the death recap used the icon of an alpha item with unknown effects called Long Staff to denote basic attacks.
Old Death Recap
It is displayed when a player’s champion has been slain; the player can open the Death Recap window which will summarize all of the damage they received during their final moments. At the bottom of the recap window, it shows the total of the damage, and the amount of time in which it occurred.
The Death Recap window provides informative tips on how to avoid being killed by the same Champion and spells again by hovering over the Champion's section of the window or hovering over the spell icon respectively. It also displays the items the killing and assisting Champions have, and the stats of those items. The fatal damage taken is broken down on an integer and percentage basis, so that players can have a complete and thorough understanding of exactly how they were taken down.
A lot of glitches still exist, such as towers adding to a Champion's basic attack damage. These glitches are mostly negligible, however.
In the death recap, there are some spells such as which modify basic attacks, and so it counts for all the damage. For example, you could see hit 1600 with . Additionally, damage dealt by the Nexus Obelisk does not show up on the Death Recap in any form.
