Cultist is a subtype unique to a set of both followers and spells. They are spread across all basic regions, with each region receiving exactly one card of each type.

They represent mortals that worship the Darkin and have bonus effects relating to equipped allies.

Strategy

• Both  The Arrow of Retribution (4Varus' origin) and  The Shadow Reaper (5Kayn's origin) allow players to add any Cultist cards to their deck.
  • Additionally, Varus has an additional effect related to Cultist spells, while Kayn needs units.
• Spells with this subtype often feature cost reduction when you have equipped an ally, and followers are granted keywords.
  • Notably, the keywords granted this way (e.g. Elusive or Scout from 3 Blooming Cultist and 4 Ranger-Knight Defector) persist through a transformation, for example by 16 World Ender.
