The Crest of Insight, commonly known as blue buff or blue, is a neutral buff granted by the 
Blue Sentinel. It is available only on Summoner's Rift.
The holder of the buff is marked by swirling blue runes around the champion.
How to obtain[]
- By landing the killing blow to the
Blue Sentinel. - By picking up a wisp of the buff at the Blue Sentinel's camp location.
- This wisp is spawned when the Blue Sentinel is killed in its Draconic form and lasts for 60 seconds.
- The monster gains this Draconic form after the map transforms into the Elemental Rift.
- The wisp can be picked up by one of the killer's allied champions depending on if they had Smite or not. If they did, then the wisp can be picked up by one of their allies. Otherwise, it can only be picked up by an ally that has Smite.
- This wisp is spawned when the
- By being alive when the Blue Sentinel is slain by your allies in its Voidborn form.
- The monster becomes corrupted by the Void after Baron Nashor spawns at 20 minutes into the game, turning into a Voidborn that empowers the Crest of Insight to be granted to both the killer and all their allied champions if they are alive.

Notes[]
- The bonus energy restored is 7 per second (5 + 200 × 1%) on most energy-champions, and 9 per second on Shen (5 + 400 × 1%).
- The buff can only be lost by timing out or death. Receiving the buff while dead will keep it after respawning.

- Ability haste changed to 10 at all levels from 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 (based on level).
- Removed: If the buff was granted from a Corrupted Blue Sentinel, it no longer transfers to the killer.
- New Effect: Upon becoming Draconic, killing the Blue Sentinel drops a Crest of Insight wisp at the location of the camp either for the player that has Smite equipped or, if the killer is the Smite user, at most one ally to pick up. The wisp lasts for 60 seconds.
- New Effect: After Baron Nashor spawns, all newly-spawned or live non-Draconic Blue Sentinel monsters become permanently corrupted by the Void, transforming into voidborn with 30% increased health and granting the Crest of Insight buff to the killer and all allies alive upon slaying it. The Blue Sentinel loses its Draconic effects with the Corrupted monster's respawn.
- Removed: Blue Sentinel no longer always drops a Crest of Insight wisp lasting for 60 seconds at the location of the camp when a player on the team has Primal Smite equipped.
- Ability haste changed to 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 (based on level) from 10 at all levels.
