A Cosmic Vault is a type of reward in The Path of Champion and the main way to acquire Champion Fragments which is their principal resource, but they will occasionally include bonus items.

Acquiring a Cosmic Vault

You can earn them for free by:

• Reaching some Legends of Runeterra and event milestones.

• Path of Champions quests, some relevant examples are:
  • Daily quests reward Bronze Vaults
  • Weekly Quests reward a Silver Vault
  • The Path Quests reward both Platinum and Gold Cosmic Vaults.

• Completing Adventures. Almost every adventure rewards a type of Cosmic Vault.
• Winning one of the 3 Weekly Adventures rewards a Silver Vault.
• Both 40 and 65 wins rewards on Monthly Challenges are a Platinum Cosmic Vault.
• Many Legend levels, particularly:
  • Before level 30 you can earn Gold Vaults on Legend Levels 14,17,23,25,28. Then, after level 30, every Level finished on 1,2,4,5,7 and 8 rewards a Gold Vault.
  • Before level 30 you can earn Platinum Vaults on Legend Levels 19 and 30. Then, after level 30, every Level finished on 3,6 and 9 rewards a Platinum Vault.

You can buy Cosmic Vaults by:

• Purchasing Battle Pass tickets. Some of the rewards are premium only.

Duplicate Protection

Duplicate Protection is a condition that is limited to vaults and Gold Reliquaries, tho in each works differently. In vaults, it guarantees that the rewards of those with this condition, that is Vaults of Gold, Platinum and Diamond rarity, having exclusively fragments for champions that you haven't fully upgraded. Specifically, it means that the vault will prioritize rewarding fragments for a champ that requires, at least, the amount it rewards, to be fully upgraded, therefore, this vaults won't give Stardust from duplicated Fragments unless you have the maximum of fragments on all the champions in the game, they will still grant Stardust from duplicated relics, which are not protected from duplication in vaults.

• This behavior is on Gold Vaults, prioritizing champions that will be at least fully upgraded only with 20 or more fragments.

• In Platinum Vaults, prioritizing always champions that will be at least fully upgraded with the framgnments obtained, the number changes depending on the amount of framgnets obtained.

• In Diamond Vaults, prioritizing always champions that will be at least fully upgraded with the framgnments obtained, the number changes depending on the amount of framgnets obtained.

Gold Vaults, Platinum Vaults and Diamond Vaults have duplicate protection.
