Combat status affects abilities, runes, items and buffs. You're in-combat when damaging or taking damage from an enemy unit, otherwise you're out-of-combat. Most out-of-combat effects trigger 5 seconds after being in-combat, refreshing each time you become in-combat.

Abilities
- Anivia's Crystallize - Triggers in-combat effects.
- Annie's Summon Tibbers - While out-of-combat for at least 5 seconds, Tibbers gains bonus movement speed when moving toward Annie and regenerates 6% maximum health per second.
- Bard's Tempered Fate - Triggers in-combat effects.
- Evelynn's Demon Shade: Innate: Evelynn shrouds herself in Demon Shade after not performing actions that break stealth for 4 seconds. Attacking or casting abilities ends Demon Shade immediately and places it on a 4-second static cooldown, reduced to 1.25 seconds from casting Last Caress. Taking damage from champions or turrets interrupts Demon Shade and places it on a 1.5-second static cooldown.
Demon Shade: While below 250 − 590 (based on level) (+ 250% AP) health, Evelynn heals herself for 15 − 150 (based on level) every second. From level 6 onward, Demon Shade also grants camouflage. - Nunu's Consume - Casting Consume on a large monster grants Nunu a Well Fed stack, granting him 10 out-of-combat bonus movement speed, 2% maximum health, and increased size, stacking up to 5 times for a maximum 50 out-of-combat bonus movement speed and 10% maximum health.
- Rengar's Unseen Predator - Ferocity: Rengar generates 1 Ferocity whenever he casts a basic ability. Upon reaching 4 Ferocity, his next basic ability is empowered, can be cast independently of its basic version's cooldown, incurs no cooldown of its own, grants Rengar Error: Parameter '3' is not accepted. bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds, and consumes all of his Ferocity. All Ferocity is lost after being out-of-combat for 7 seconds.
- Taliyah's Rock Surfing: Innate: While near terrain, Taliyah gains 10 / 15 / 25 / 40% (based on level) bonus movement speed, which builds up over 1 second while in range for at least 0.4 seconds, and decays at the same rate once out of range for at least 3 seconds.
If Taliyah is casting an ability or enters champion combat, Rock Surfing cannot occur again for a few seconds. - Trundle's Pillar of Ice - Triggers in-combat effects.
