"The Hush Company connect the Undercity via a vast network of informants and fences throughout the city. We are always watching, always listening, and always at hand should you need our… services. Aside from surveilling other Chembarons, we act as a switchboard for any and all illicit activity."

Chross is a chem-baron and the boss of the The Hush Company Crest icon Hush Company.

Background[]

Early Life[]

Although he was born and raised in Piltover, Chross decided to move to Zaun Crest icon Zaun after he realized that his skillset and personality worked better in the undercity. At some point after Silco Silco took over the undercity, Chross made a name for himself as the boss of the The Hush Company Crest icon Hush Company, an illicit enterprise that specialized in surveillance, and became affiliated with several other crime lords who were also loyal to Silco,[1] creating the first generation of Chem-Barons.[2]

Double Crossed[]

At one point, one of his most infamous hitmen, Nero Eso, was apprehended by enforcers. Because he was captured by someone other than Silco's upper city asset, Marcus Marcus, the hitman was interrogated, though he refused to give any substantial information on him and Silco. Nero was apparently ordered by Silco to leave Progress Day pins at the sites of his hits as a reminder to Chross of his origins. Another enforcer, Caitlyn Kiramman Caitlyn Kiramman, found the records of this and kept it as part of an ongoing investigation on the underground's then unknown ruler the underground's then unknown ruler and his mole mole in Piltover.[1]

Border Crisis[]

After the actions of Jinx Jinx, Silco's adoptive daughter, led Jayce Jayce to shut down the border between Zaun and Piltover Crest icon Piltover, trade between the two cities came to a sudden halt, causing Chross' criminal ventures to lose massive profits. Frustrated by the fact that Silco was doing nothing to keep Jinx under control, Chross and the other chem-barons scheduled an assembly to discuss their next move, in which Finn Finn attempted to convince him to join him in a coup against Silco. However, before he could give Finn an answer, Silco arrived on the scene and unleashed a toxic gas in the air to remind the barons of the oppressive life that he had saved them from, which was enough to convince Chross to fall back in line.[2]

The Council Archives. You'd heard stories at the Academy, of course, but words could not describe the breathtaking magnitude of its contents. The entire history of your city: its glorious achievements, its sinister secrets, painstakingly documented, waiting to be read.

Trivia[]

  • Chross' leadership over the Hush Company was first revealed in the Enter the Undercity live event, which was tied to the larger Undercity Nights event.[3][4]
    • During the Enter the Undercity live event, several cosplayers were hired by Riot to play characters from the Arcane logo icon show. Chross was played by Tom Trugeron and photographed by Andrew Ge. Also, on the Imgur post showcasing the cast, his name was misspelled as "Cross".[5]
