- Role
- Disruptor champion: An umbrella term for any champion with skills that interfere with another player's ability to control their own champion. These include stuns, snares, silences, disarms, charms, taunts, fears, or reductions in damage or attack speed or movement speed. While many skills fall under these categories, disablers have two of these or a disable that lasts an inordinately long time. As of V6.8, this is an official subclass of
Controllers.
- Resource
- Energy champion: Any champion that uses energy to cast their abilities.
- Health champion: Any champion that uses their own health to cast their abilities.
- Fury champion: Any champion that uses fury to enhance or cast their abilities.
- Manaless champion: Any champion that does not use mana to cast their abilities.
- Cooldown champion: Any champion that does not have a resource to cast their abilities; they are gated by their cooldowns.
- Ability
- Blink champion: Any champion that has an ability with a blink.
- Cleanse champion: Any champion that has an ability that removes crowd control effects.
- Dash champion: Any champion that has a dash ability.
- Decoy champion: Any champion that has an ability that creates a decoy.
- Execution champion: Any champion that has an ability that gains increased potency based on the target's missing health.
- Global champion: Any champion that possesses an ability that has global range.
- Haste champion: Any champion that has an ability that speeds up themselves or allied champions.
- Healer champion: Any champion that has an ability that heals an ally.
- Immune champion Any champion with an ability that can prevent a crowd control effect from being applied.
- Mana Heal champion: Any champion that possesses an ability that restores mana.
- Burst champion/Nuker: Any champion that possesses abilities that deal significant amounts of damage in a short time. Their damage output is usually high during the early game, and diminishes as the game progresses.
- Invulnerable champion: Any champion with an ability that renders themselves or another champion invulnerable.
- Pet champion: Any champion that possesses an ability that summons an allied unit.
- Resurrection champion: Any champion that has a resurrection effect from taking lethal damage.
- Self Heal champion: Any champion that has an ability to heal themselves, but not other allies.
- Shapeshifter champion: Any champion that has an ability to transform, which grant them a new set of abilities.
- Shield champion: Any champion that possesses an ability that creates temporary health via shields. "Shields" that grant only temporary armor or magic resistance, damage reduction, or spell immunity, are not included.
- Stance champion: Any champion that has stances that they can change in and out of instead of the normal abilities that other champions have.
- Stealth champion: Any champion that has an ability which renders them hidden to enemies via stealth.
- Untargetable champion: Any champion with an ability that renders themselves or another champion untargetable.
