Champion Sneak Peek: Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover[]

Officials from Piltover would like me to issue a statement to all of you. It is my duty to inform you that there is a new sheriff in town. The beautiful (and stylish) Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover, has arrived at the League of Legends, so bandits, ruffians, rabble-rousers, and otherwise uncouth persons beware! Of course, even if you're on the run, one look at her and you might not want to escape anymore. Of course, you don't need to have a warrant out for your arrest to get a closer look at this pretty lady. Whether you're an outlaw type or someone who plays by the rules, I've got the publicity shots for you right here!

2016 Season Update[]

Caitlyn's on the hunt as Piltover's premier sharpshooter. Siege down enemy turrets while picking off fleeing enemies.^[2]

Caitlyn's traps now run on ammo, so the sheriff can lay down up to three at a time, and while trapped enemies no longer suffer damage, Caitlyn can hit them with a basic attack at much longer range to deal instant Headshot damage. She gets the same bonus off enemies caught by her 90 Caliber Net, too. Finally, we're tweaking Cait's Piltover Peacemaker, making the initial shot much thinner until it strikes a target - then her round bursts open and deals reduced damage to everything behind it.

Headshot

Caitlyn headshots every few basic attacks (attacks while in brush count for additional stacks) or when attacking a target she has trapped or netted. Headshot now scales with Caitlyn's critical strike chance, and its range is doubled against

trapped or

netted targets.

Piltover Peacemaker

Caitlyn fires a narrow, piercing shot. On hitting a target, the shot widens, dealing reduced damage to following targets. Piltover Peacemaker always deals full damage to

trap revealed targets.

Yordle Snap Trap

Sets a non-damaging trap that enemy champions can spring,

immobilizing and

revealing them for a period of time. Caitlyn stores a new trap over a period of time and can hold up to three traps at once.

90 Caliber Net

Caitlyn fires a net,

knocking herself back while also dealing damage and

slowing enemies.

Ace in the Hole

Caitlyn lines up a long-range snipe on an enemy champion over a massive range. Enemy champions can intercept the bullet.

Trivia[]

Caitlyn was the first champion released in 2011.
Caitlyn is voiced by Kirsten Potter in League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra.^[3]
- Pulsefire Caitlyn and Battle Academia Caitlyn are voiced by the same voice actress.
Caitlyn is voiced by Katie Leung in Arcane.^[4]
- Young Caitlyn is voiced by Molly Harris.
Caitlyn's Japanese voice actor is Yūko Kaida, whom also voices her in the Japanese dub of Arcane.^[5]^[6]
Caitlyn is the first champion to receive Art and Sustainability update in conjucnction with the release of Arcane (TV Series).
- Caitlyn's Art & Sustainability Update's design was inspired by her design in WARRIORS.^[7]
During development she was called Emeria.
Early explorations had her Yordle Snap Trap be an ability that could spawn brushes. This was however avoided for weird interactions in lane, with monsters, and more... Later implemented in Ivern's Brushmaker.
The Warriors Cinematic Season 2020 Asset Pack includes models of her and her rifle depicted in the cinematic.
