Blue Essence (BE BE BE) is one of the primary currencies used to unlock League of Legends content, the other being Riot Points. Blue Essence can be obtained by disenchanting champion shards contained in champion capsules that are awarded when leveling up.

Blue Essence was first released at the beginning of Season 2016 as a way to not spend IP IP IP to unlock champions. It was then merged with Influence Points IP Influence Points on patch V7.22.
