Baron Nashor is the most powerful neutral monster in the Wild Rift.
Killing Baron Nashor grants aura that greatly empowers nearby minions.
to all living teammates, offensive and defensive stats, as well as faster recall and anFeatures[]
Passives[]
- Upon spawning in his pit, Baron Nashor knocks back all units that are within his collision radius to the outskirts of the pit, making them enter the airborne state for 0.5 seconds.
- Debuff Immunity: Baron Nashor is immune to all crowd control, ( PENDING FOR TEST: but not to Grievous Wounds)
- Baron Nashor applies the Baron's Gaze debuff with each basic attack. Champions afflicted deal 50% less damage to Baron Nashor for 5 seconds. Each basic attack from Baron Nashor on a champion resets the 5 seconds timer.
- Voracious Corrosion: Reduces the target's armor and magic resistance by 3 for 5 seconds with every basic attack and ability, up to -50. Each basic attack resets the 5 second timer.
- Baron Poison is applied for 5 seconds to any champion that receives damage from Baron Nashor, except from the poison itself. Each consecutive hit resets the 5 second timer. While afflicted by Baron Poison, champions take magic damage every 0.5 seconds as long as they stand within the Baron Pit's borders, indicated by a yellow zone. Exiting this zone will stop the damage but will not remove the poison. Re-entering the zone while being afflicted by the poison will resume its damage.
Basic attacks (single-target)[]
Baron Nashor will always target the unit closest to him when basic attacking.
- Ranged attack: If the target is in front of Baron Nashor, he spits an acid projetile at them that deals 120 (+ 25% AD) physical damage and applies Baron's Gaze and Baron Poison. Champions that take more than 1 shot of acid, take 50% damage after the first shot.
- Single-target rear Attack: If the target is behind Baron Nashor, he erects spikes that deal them physical damage and applies Baron's Gaze and Baron Poison.
- Void Corruption: Basic attacks also fire a small, secondary projectile that applies the Baron Poison to one random champion but deals no damage on-hit and does not reduce the target's armor or magic resistance. Baron will try to switch the secondary target as often as possible, prioritizing players who are not afflicted by the Baron Poison, in order to maximize the damage done.
Abilities[]
- Baron Nashor will activate an ability, always in the same order, once every 5 or 6 basic attacks depending on the next ability. Baron's first ability will always be the Acid Pool if the closest player to him is attacking from the front, or the Wall of Spikes if they attack him from behind.
- Acid Pool: Baron Nashor spits out 3 pools of acid to the closest player to him, dealing 120 (+ 25% AD) magic damage to all champions hit as well as creating a field that slows champions caught in it for 1 second and applying Baron Poison to them.
- Acidic Missiles: Baron Nashor spits 5 Acidic Missiles in the sky that then fall one-by-one on random players within the limits of his Pit, dealing high (magic/physical?) damage in a small zone. If there are less than 5 players within the Pit, the same player will get hit by multiple missiles.
- Tentacle Knockup: Baron Nashor uses one of his tentacles beneath the closest player's location erupts after about 1 second, dealing 180 (+ 25% AD) magic damage to units within and knocking them up for (1?) second.
- Wall of Spikes: Baron Nashor erects a cluster of spikes behind him, dealing physical damage to units within the area and stunning them for 1 second.
Baron Nashor's always uses abilities in the same order and in a loop:
- When the closest player stands in front of him: Acid Pool > Missiles > Tentacle Knockup and repeat.
- When the closest player stands behind him: Wall of Spikes > Tentacle Knockup and repeat.
He will always use 6 basic attacks between the Acid Pool and Acidic Missiles abilities, and only 5 basic attacks between all his other abilities.
Baron Buff[]
Killing Baron Nashor grants
to all living teammates for 120 seconds. The buff is lost upon dying, and players who are dead while Baron Nashor is slain by their team will not receive it. Teammates under the effects of the buff will receive:- Increased attack damage, ability power, armor and magic resistance by an amount determined at the time he was slain. At every minute minute mark, the stats provided by the buff become greater and there is no cap to this progression.
- Empowered Recall, halving the duration of the champion recall from 5 seconds to 2.5.
- An aura that increase nearby minions' damage, armor, magic resistance, move speed as well as granting AoE attacks and extended range to Siege minions, allowing them to siege turrets without entering their attack radius. This bonus range is not enough to siege the Nexus without getting attacked.
Strategy[]
Baron Nashor is much easier to slain compared to its PC counterpart, even with as little as one champion under the right circumstances. But a tank is usually required so the damage dealers car survive the fight.
- Baron needs a direct line of sight on champions in order to target them with his basic attacks' secondary projectile, meaning that hiding behind the pit's walls while inside Baron Nashor's attack radius will prevent players from ever getting afflicted by Baron's Poison as long as they avoid his abilities. This way, players can help their team kill Baron Nashor while not losing a single point of health, armor or magic resistance.
- Securing Baron Nashor is a high-risk investment with the resistance-shred debuff and the confined pit providing an advantage to an intervening counterattack. Sight control of the pit is also essential to securing the kill, obscuring the opportune moment to intervene and steal the objective. With these risks, fighting Baron Nashor is preferably conducted while the enemy is indisposed.
Trivia[]
- Nashor is an anadrome for Roshan (a special case of anagram), being a tribute to the monster filling a similar role in Defense of the Ancients.
- A box labeled 'Baron Acid' can be seen in the preview video for the launch of the League of Legends' Mac Version.
- Baron Nashor's base health starts with 11800 at 10:00, so when he spawns at 13:00, it actually starts with 13000.
