• Anivia is voiced by Kari Wahlgren in Legends of Runeterra.
• Anivia is one of only three champions to have had her voiceover changed twice, the others being Ashe and Katarina.
  • The first one was the calmest.
  • The second one was the most aggressive.
  • Her voiceover was later reverted to the first, then got updated to the current voiceover.
• Blackfrost Anivia's Brazillian voice actor is Lúcia Helena, who also voices Kalista.
• Anivia evokes the Latin adjective nivea < Proto-Italic *sniɣʷeyā "snowy, snow-white", all from PIE root-verb *sneygʷʰ-.
  • In-universe, Anivia is likely a pre-Freljordian theonym like her other brethren.
• During development she was called Cryophoenix which combines Greek Cryo κρύος "cold" and Phoenix, a fiery solar bird who cyclically resurrects from its own ashes, inspiring her Rebirth, from Afroasiatic mythology: cf. the Egyptian heron Bennu who likewise cyclically renews himself.
• Flash Frost's missile was a once a Nexus crystal.

Universe

• Anivia is a prehistoric entity, being at least 10000 years old and possibly much older than that.
• As a Spirit God, Anivia acts as a manifestation of cultural ideas, given immense power by the belief of her followers. Because of this, her power can wax and wane depending on her worship or even disappear entirely for a long time.
• It's most likely that True Ice's origins are traced back to Anivia, as Sylas can obtain ice magic similar to hers when he made contact with True Ice.
• While in egg form, Anivia is often referred to as 1Eggnivia.
  • In League of Legends, Anivia's in-game name changes accordingly while she is resurrecting with her passive.

• Anivia's dance references the Chicken Dance, a fad dance.

  • She shares this dance with Birdio.
• The quote in her lore references Fire and Ice by Robert Frost.
• Anivia is the first female entirely-non-humanoid champion, the second being Rek'Sai.
• As stated by Brian 'FeralPony' Feeney, Flash Frost resembles the very first Nexus Crystal.
• From the previous rating system, Anivia was one of five champions with a difficulty of 10, the others being Cassiopeia, Evelynn, Rumble, and Yasuo.
  • However, Anivia has not been given this rating originally.
    • Anivia also had an ability of 10, which made her the only champion that scored two 10 ratings.

• She resembles a Bald Eagle.
• She is holding the Philosopher's Stone in one of her talons.
• In June 2014, the skin received a unique voiceover in the Hungarian localization; also it was renamed from Ragadozó Anivia to Turulmadár Anivia. Later that month it was announced that the skin was going to represent Hungary and EUNE players with the Hungarian client would get it for free within 3 weeks after the announcement.
  • This caused major controversy in the Hungarian community, as they were expecting a new skin, considering the fact that previous regional skins were created specifically to represent their cultures ( Winged Hussar Xin Zhao – Poland, Sultan Gangplank / Sultan Tryndamere – Türkiye, River Spirit Nami – Brazil, etc.). Moreover, the skin was originally designed with the resemblance to the aforementioned bald eagle, having little in common with the Turul – a national symbol of Hungary.
