Lore[]
The wilds of Runeterra are impossibly vast. Best to discover them with the aid of Bandle City’s most illustrious scout. Here are some of his writings on the frigid Freljord, the northernmost realm of Runeterra where great warriors are forged—or frozen.
“Arrived in the Freljord to track down a Rimefang wolf! One of those would sure make a great pet!
The Freljord is a harsh wilderness, but no terrain is too tough for a scout! I do wish I had a big fur hat and gloves...maybe a green coat with furry lining. A yordle can dream…
I was in for a surprise when I found the wolf pack. At first they seemed as fearsome as I hoped. But then they turned into POROS! They must have been polymorphed all along!
I know only one mage who could have done this. STOP MESSING UP MY MISSIONS,
!”Lulu & Freljord[]
Playful, whimsical, and mischievous, Lulu and her sidekick Pix love causing magical mayhem. And the Freljord, a land full of friendly and fluffy poros, is a perfect place for pranks! The pair practiced their spells all across the wintry tundra, enchanting the poros there with amusing and amazing transmogrifications. But Lulu finally outdid herself when an overly ambitious "biggify" spell turned a regular poro into a giant poro! The pros celebrate the mighty magic, cheering their newfound friends, Lulu and Pix.
Few truly know the realm of Ionia, and even fewer understand her. Only the boldest scouts would dare explore the forgotten wilds of the First Lands. Fortunately, we know just the one. Here are some of his writings, translated:
“Was mapping some uncharted forests in Ionia when
charged right into me! He can never resist the opportunity for a friendly spar.""Just when I'd gotten the upper hand, we realized we were being watched! I pulled out my trusty blow darts...but it was only some forest spirits! Ionia is full of magic like that. And here I thought it might be a scaled snapper!"
"I considered recruiting one of the spirits as a pet, but they seem a bit too squishy.“
Kennen & Ionia[]
The longest-standing member of Ionia's Kinkou Order, Kennen is disciplined, dutiful, and stoic–marking him the perfect Heart of the Tempest. He is also as quick as lightning–so quick, in fact, that he sometimes develops and masters new martial maneuvers in the course of an afternoon! Unbeknownst to Kennen, these training sessions have earned him quite a following among the local fauna, who always try their best to follow along and emulate his moves. But, try as they might, they can never keep up with the yordle's electrifying techniques.
Bilgewater, ahoy! A haven for cutthroats, smugglers, and sea dogs, where there's a brawl in every bar and a knife bound for every back. A city of new beginnings and watery ends. Here’s what the swiftest Yordle scout had to say about it:
“I can’t stand how Bilgewater smells! Like a dead fish swallowed whole by a deader fish and then blown up by a cannonball. But...a scout must press on."
"I’m here because of a rumour
mentioned: A soul-devouring sea-worm was spotted in the city! Without a doubt, that would be the perfect pet. I’m not leaving till I find it!”Tristana & Bilgewater[]
Anyone who spends enough time in Bilgewater knows that the next good gunfight is just one dirty deal away. And no one enjoys a friendly shoot out more than Tristana. Friendly, upbeat, and with a cavalier approach to ballistics, Tristana's trips to Bilgewater always end up with a bang. During one of her latest adventures down to the Slaughter Docks, she got a really good deal on some extra-explosive back-alley black powder to give her beloved cannon, Boomer, a bigger kick. While her plan didn't exactly backfire, Boomer sure did, and the deckhands were left with one less pier to swab.
Piltover and Zaun are two sides of the same city. In these bustling bastions of technology, it can be easy to lose yourself. Easier still to disappear without a trace. Here’s a fragment of a report on it by Bandle City’s foremost scout:
“I don’t normally like to fly, but sometimes I think this might be the only way to get around all these Zaunite allies.
was kind enough to give me a lift, although having to listen to him jabber on made me wonder if I could survive jumping from this height.”“This place is lousy with cats! Maybe even more than Bandle City, and that's saying something!”
Another Bandle Scout mission badge complete.
Corki & Piltover/Zaun[]
There is one yordle whose name is synonymous with aeronautic excellence, spectacular spectacle, and daredevilry of the highest order: Corki! And so, when a Piltovan inventor promised to unveil the world's fastest flying machine at the grand festival of Progress Day, Corki hopped in his trusty copter and zipped to the scene with maximum haste (and minimum caution). He was so excited to meet his challenger head-on, in fact, that he accidentally met his challenger head-on–in a midair collision! His copter burst through the flimsy wing of the hextech glider and zoomed on unhindered. Maybe the flying machine was the fastest in the world, but it definitely wasn't the sturdiest…
On Teemo’s last trip to Targon, he discovered himself. Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to draw that in his journal.
Teemo & Targon[]
Few places are as inaccessible as the heights of Targon, a mountain some say reaches all the way to the stars. But for diligent, curious, and often oblivious Bandle Scout like Teemo, no peak is too perilous! Most looked on in confusion as the naive yordle began his ascent, and more looked on in awe as he came skipping back down, merrily crossing the Targonian mountaineering task from his meticulously maintained merit badge list. Why he decided to take to the mountain, and more importantly whether or not he actually made it to the top, remains a super serious Bandle Scout secret.Trivia[]
