Ground-targeting is a targeting paradigm in League of Legends which requires abilities utilizing it to specify a target location within range before being used, with the crux of the spell centering at this location.

Overwhelmingly, abilities using this targeting type have a circular area of effect around the point, with the few exceptions being wall-type spells (such as Jinx's Jinx's Flame Chompers! Flame Chompers!) vector-targeted spells (Rumble's Rumble's The Equalizer The Equalizer and Viktor's Viktor's Death Ray Death Ray) and certain blink abilities (which do not have an area of effect)

Ground-targeting is separated into subsets of being movement and non-movement related. Ground-targeted movement spells are either blinks or dashes that move the caster to the new location, usually dealing any damage and effects when they arrive. Non-movement spells are traditional casts that do not move the caster in any way and are instead projectile-based or instantaneous in nature.

Champion Abilities



  • Warding Totem Warding Totem: Active: Consume a charge to place an invisible Totem Ward icon Totem Ward at the target location (600 range), which reveals the surrounding area for 60 - 120 (in base al livello) seconds. Stores one charge every 180 - 90 (in base al livello) seconds, up to 2 maximum charges. 
    Cost: Gold 0
  • Farsight Alteration Farsight Alteration: Active: Reveals an area up to 4000 units away for 2 seconds (148 - 99 (in base al livello) second cooldown). Enemy champions hit will be revealed for 5 seconds. This does not affect stealth champions.

Also places a visible 20px Farsight Ward at the target location that lasts indefinitely.
